Falmouth Youth Baseball recognized at Commodores' home opener

FALMOUTH, Mass. - The Falmouth Commodores' home opener on Saturday night had an extra layer of excitement as Falmouth Youth Baseball players were honored in a special recognition ceremony. The aspiring young athletes came decked out in their team uniform and took center stage at Guv Fuller Field, earning quite the reaction from the crowd.

Prior to the first pitch, the young athletes stood proudly with the Commodores during the national anthem, and the look on the kids' faces was nothing short of exciting.

The highlight of the opening ceremony was when Colby Cunningham, a dedicated player from the youth league, was given the honor of throwing out the first pitch. Despite sporting a cast on his arm from a recent break, Colby showcased his spirit and determination, drawing applause from players and fans.

“It was awesome to see Colby up there, he's so cool,” said Max, one of the youth players. “We love the fist bumps and watching the players when they win.”

Another youth player, Ozzy, shared his excitement to be around the team. “They’re so cool to watch and I learn a lot from them,” he said.

The Falmouth Commodores' organization was seen beaming with pride as they supported the next generation of players. As the game went on, the young players could be seen cheering from the stands, no doubt dreaming of the day they might step onto the field as Commodores themselves.
