SOUTH YARMOUTH, Mass. — On Saturday, July 19, a capacity crowd flooded Red Wilson Field to watch the 2025 Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Game, presented by Milton CAT. What’s become the crown jewel event for summer collegiate leagues, the All-Star Game served as a showcase of the Cape League’s brightest talents. This year’s iteration didn’t disappoint—a jam-packed offensive display broke out, and when the dust cleared, the East Division stood victorious.

Tre Broussard of the Harwich Mariners, a center fielder from the University of Houston, put together a 3-for-3 performance. Two of his hits were doubles, and he led the All-Star Game with five total bases.

“Any game, you gotta have fun with it, be loose,” Broussard said about Saturday’s exhibition. Still, “you want to showcase your talent.”

His second hit of the evening, a single grounded to center field, knocked in two runs for the East Division, extending their lead to 8-1 at the time. Broussard, no stranger to competing in a star-studded lineup, had a quick, but emphatic, response to the East’s hot start at the plate.

“It was definitely fun to see everyone else having fun.”

Broussard, who’s hitting just under .300, was named one of seven All-Stars from the Harwich Mariners. His 20 hits paired with ten stolen bases have made him a threatening at-bat for opposing Cape League pitchers.

“It’s an opportunity you don’t get every day, right?” Broussard said of his experience. “The best thing we can do is cherish it, remember it, and be grateful for it.”

Broussard’s second inning double was lined to the West Division's right fielder, Antonio Morales of the Falmouth Commodores. Morales, who played his 2025 season at Wake Forest before announcing his transfer to the University of Maryland, returned the favor with a single ripped up the middle to Broussard.

One of six Commodores to be selected to the All-Star team, Morales, who’s from Norfolk, MA, said, “It was an honor. I grew up watching the Cape League. I lived about an hour away from the Cape, so I’m just grateful I had the opportunity to play today.”

Although the West Division fell 13-8, Morales still had a standout performance with a single, an RBI double, and a stolen base.

Like Broussard, Morales said, “I wanted to showcase what I can do as a player.” Despite the bright lights of the All-Star Game, he “didn’t lose focus or anything like that. I just wanted to play how I play.”

Broussard and Morales exited the game in the fifth and sixth innings, respectively, making way for other All-Stars to get their shot. Watching from the dugout, Morales said, “I wanted to take it all in. We had a really good crowd today, and I wanted to see the rest of my friends succeed and play well.”

When Morales heard his name announced as the West Division’s All-Star MVP, he said, “That’s a moment I’m going to remember forever. I was so honored, so grateful for all of it.”

Both players now continue their summers with Harwich and Falmouth, each squad just two games back of their division leads. The standings are tight, and there’s plenty of baseball left this summer, but Tre Broussard and Antonio Morales will forever have their names etched in Cape League history.
