SOUTH YARMOUTH, Mass. — The best of the best in the Cape Cod Baseball League showed up on the biggest day of the summer Saturday. In a game dominated by offense, the East Division took down the West Division by a score of 13-8 in the 2025 Cape League All-Star Game presented by Milton CAT at Red Wilson Field, home of the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox.

The game featured seven home runs. The 21 runs scored is the most in a Cape League All-Star Game since 1985 and ties the all-time record set that year.

Harwich center fielder Tre Broussard was named MVP for the East. He went 3-for-3 with two doubles, a single and two RBIs. For the West, Falmouth right fielder Antonio Morales took home MVP honors, going 2-for-2 with an RBI.

It was a chamber of commerce day in South Yarmouth. The festivities started with a fan festival and autograph signing, followed by the Home Run Contest presented by Velo Sports.

Kuhio Aloy of Bourne won the Home Run Contest. He led the way with 12 home runs in the first round to advance. In the final round, he hit 10 home runs and needed two more on his three bonus swings to tie Easton Breyfogle. Aloy displayed clutch hitting and tied the mark on his last swing to force a one-minute tiebreaker. Breyfogle hit three home runs in the tiebreaker, but Aloy was able to best him with four.

The main event started just after 4 p.m. The East got off to a hot start in the bottom of the first inning, ambushing West starting right-hander Trever Baumler of Falmouth. Orleans shortstop Elijah Ickes led off with a base hit and scored on a throwing error as he swiped third base. Brewster second baseman Dalton Wentz and Harwich third baseman Dee Kennedy hit back-to-back no-doubt solo homers to give the East a 3-0 lead after one.

Harwich righty Christian Rodriguez came on to pitch the second for the East after a scoreless first from Y-D right-handed Brady Hamilton. Rodriguez pitched out of trouble, stranding two in scoring position with a clutch strikeout.

The East added another run in the bottom of the second. Broussard doubled and scored on a sacrifice fly by Chatham designated hitter Ashton Larson.

Falmouth center fielder Maika Niu got the West on the board in the top of the third. A little looper off his bat found green grass in left-center field for a two-out RBI single.

The East continued its offensive barrage in the bottom of the third inning, adding six more runs and stretching its lead to 10-1. Orleans left fielder Robbie Lavey drove in a run with a single before Orleans catcher Cashel Dugger doubled to center for an RBI. Broussard drove in two with a single and then Larson left the yard for a two-run bomb.

In the top of fourth inning, the West scored three runs to keep the game somewhat within reach. Hyannis second baseman Ryan McKay doubled to center to plate two. He scored on an RBI double off the bat of Morales.

After four zeros on the scoreboard in a row, the East got those three runs right back and led 13-4 after six innings. Chatham catcher Daniel Jackson hit a towering two-run shot, and Harwich center fielder Aiden Robbins followed it up with a solo homer of his own.

The West continued to fight late in the game and cut into its deficit. Falmouth catcher Bear Harrison hit a solo homer as part of a three-run top of the seventh. Wareham right fielder Chase Krewson added one more home run in the top of the eighth for good measure.

Y-D right-hander Dominic Desch was the final pitcher of the game for the East. He got the final two outs it needed to end the possibility of a West comeback and secure the victory.

The entire day was filled with fun and great baseball, celebrating the timeless tradition of the Cape Cod Baseball League.
