Falmouth Commodores recognize Barnstable County Sheriff's Office

FALMOUTH, Mass. — Saturday night, the Falmouth Commodores held a special recognition night in which they showed their heartfelt support for the Barnstable County Sheriff's Office. Bringing attention to the sheriff's office's many functions and services, the night showcased the sheriff's office's noteworthy contributions to the community.

The evening kicked off with a miniature "Touch-A-Truck" event, allowing fans to explore the sheriff's office's impressive display of vehicles. These included a crime scene van, an emergency communications truck, patrol cruisers and the SWAT Bearcat. The array of exciting vehicles gave attendees an exciting hands-on opportunity to learn about the different tools and technology used by the sheriff's office.

A table set up by the sheriff's office offered fans a variety of swag and informational materials, further emphasizing the office's commitment to community engagement and public safety education.

Deputy Kyle Stecchi within the sheriff's office had the honor of throwing out the first pitch. Deputy Stecchi joined the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office in 2019 after an eight-year tenure in the United States Air Force. His experience includes roles as a correctional officer, drill instructor, physical training instructor for cadet academies, and member of the Tactical Response Team. Currently, he serves in the Special Operations Unit.

Adding a special touch to the evening, the children of Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office announced, “play ball,” drawing cheers and applause from the crowd to start an exciting game against the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox.

The Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office employs over 300 people and operates a wide range of services, including the Barnstable County Correctional Facility, an Emergency Communications Center, a Bureau of Criminal Investigations, a Civil Process Division and a K9 Division. They are actively involved in the community through various programs and services, such as youth programming, family support services and car seat safety checks.
