Falmouth Commodores Scholarship Recipients

The Falmouth Commodores award two different types of scholarships – the George Creighton Scholarship and the Chuck Sturtevant Outstanding Service Award.

George Creighton Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded each year in memory of George Creighton, a long-time volunteer and past president of the Falmouth Commodores. Mr. Creighton was very active in youth sports and baseball in particular. Recipients must be high school seniors who are residents of Falmouth or Mashpee. The scholarships are awarded in recognition of student sports participation, academic achievement, volunteerism and financial need.

Chuck Sturtevant Outstanding Service Award

The award will be given annually in honor of Chuck Sturtevant in recognition of his many years of service and dedication to the Falmouth Commodores and the Cape Cod Baseball League. The award is presented to individuals who have been involved with the team as a bat kid, long-term host family member, intern or other significant volunteer. Recipients will be considered regardless of residency.

Note: Scholarship recipients will be notified on approximately May 1. They must be available for a (to be scheduled) pre-game recognition event at a Falmouth Commodores game and provide a photo and bio for the Commodores’ website and program guide.

2025 Chuck Sturtevant Outstanding Service Award

Chuck Sturtevant Outstanding Service Award recipient Chase Briggs
Chase Briggs

Chase is a graduate of Falmouth High School. He has been involved with the Falmouth Commodores for many years, including serving as bat boy for four seasons and volunteering in different capacities. Chase will be attending Quinnipiac University, where he will major in sports management.

2025 George Creighton Scholarship Winners

George Creighton Scholarship recipient Addyson Rebello
Addyson Rebello

Addyson is a graduate of Mashpee High School. Her high level of academic achievement, participation in sports and high level of volunteerism will lend themselves to her studies at Mass Maritime Academy. Addyson will study facilities engineering and energy systems.

George Creighton Scholarship recipient Jacqueline Young
Jacqueline Young

Jacqueline is a graduate of Falmouth High School. Jacqueline's academic achievements, dedication to her extracurricular activities and spirit of competitiveness will serve her well at Boston College's Connell School of Nursing.

George Creighton Scholarship recipient Lorenzo Silva Ferreira
Lorenzo Silva Ferreira

Lorenzo moved to the United States at 16 years of age only speaking Portuguese. He is a graduate of Falmouth High School and a member of the National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society and National Spanish Honor Society. Lorenzo also worked a part-time job and volunteered while attending Falmouth High. He plans to attend UMass Lowell, studying nutritional science.

George Creighton Scholarship recipient Brendan Keating
Brendan Keating

Brendan is a member of the National Honor Society, Math Honor Society and Latin Honor Society. He is a three-sport varsity athlete and has volunteered at the Falmouth schools and Falmouth Road Race. Brendan plans to pursue a degree in civil engineering at UMass Amherst.
