The Falmouth Commodores are gearing up for a highly anticipated 101st season, with a lineup of events and activities promising an exciting, jam-packed summer for fans and players alike. According to Bob Curtis, President of the Commodores, the team is ready to deliver an exceptional experience both on and off the field.
The most anticipated event of the upcoming season is the Commodores' hosting of the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) All-Star Game on July 27th at Guv Fuller Field. Gates will open at 1:30 PM, with the event expected to draw as many as 6,000 fans. The day will feature a home run derby, food trucks galore, and numerous opportunities for autographs and photos with the players.
"We're thrilled to host the All-Star Game this year," Curtis said. "This is a major event, not only in the league but in all of baseball."
The Commodores' season will also include a variety of themed nights and community events. On July 12th, the team will celebrate Military Appreciation Night, honoring servicemen and women.
The following day, July 13th, the Commodores will host a Police Athletic League event from 10 AM to 12 PM, offering clinics and activities, player photos, autographs, and T-shirt giveaways.
For dog lovers, the July 21st "Bark in the Park" event will allow fans to bring their dogs to the ballfield, adding a unique twist to the usual Fuller Field experience.
The team itself will feature players from top collegiate programs across the country, supported by a robust team of over 30 interns. Curtis expressed optimism about the Commodores' prospects this season, highlighting the talent and enthusiasm of players and interns alike.
"Our players are coming from some of the best programs in the nation," Curtis said. "Combined with the hard work of our interns and the support of our fans, it's shaping up to be a fantastic season."
As the Commodores embark on their 101st season, the community is invited to join in the excitement and tradition that has made Falmouth baseball a staple of Cape Cod summers. With a packed schedule of games and special events, this season promises to be one to remember.
