Saturday couldn't have gone much better for Y-D. The Red Sox clinched the East Division title and the President's Trophy, securing the Cape League's best regular-season record. Elsewhere, the pressure only intensified.

Here's how Sunday's regular-season finale shapes up.

Beasts of the East

Locked in: Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (No. 1), Brewster Whitecaps (No. 2)

Battling for seeding: Harwich Mariners (No. 3), Chatham Anglers (No. 4)

Eliminated: Orleans Firebirds

Although Orleans was eliminated from playoff contention Friday, its 5-4 win over Brewster on Saturday clinched the East's No. 1 seed for Y-D and locked the Whitecaps into the No. 2 spot.

Harwich's 7-2 loss to Chatham opened the door for the Anglers to move into the third seed.

If Harwich beats Brewster at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, the standings stay the same: the Mariners finish third and Chatham finishes fourth.

If Harwich loses, Chatham must earn three points across its two Sunday games to jump into third. That means at least one win and one tie, or two wins.

The Anglers first resume their suspended game against Cotuit at 11 a.m., leading 1-0 in the third inning, before playing Y-D at 4:30 p.m.

Wild, Wild West

Locked in: Hyannis Harbor Hawks (No. 1), Bourne Braves (No. 2), Falmouth Commodores (No. 3)

Battling for the final spot: Wareham Gatemen (No. 4), Cotuit Kettleers (No. 5)

After spending more than five weeks atop the West Division, Bourne slipped to second during its active six-game losing streak, allowing Hyannis to claim the No. 1 seed.

Falmouth has already locked up the No. 3 seed, leaving Wareham and Cotuit to battle for the final playoff berth.

Wareham enters Sunday two points ahead of Cotuit, and both teams play doubleheaders.

If Wareham wins both games—or wins one and ties the other (noon at Orleans and 7 p.m. vs. Hyannis)—the Gatemen clinch the final playoff spot.

If Wareham splits its doubleheader, Cotuit must win both of its games: the resumed game against Chatham at 11 a.m. and a 4:30 p.m. matchup with Bourne.

If Wareham loses both games, Cotuit needs just one win—or two ties—to reach the postseason. The Kettleers own the head-to-head tiebreaker.
