Prior to the Hyannis Harbor Hawks' game against the Cotuit Kettleers on August 1, the Cape League will host a special pregame ceremony recognizing transplant recipients, living donors, donor families, and transplant professionals whose stories embody courage, compassion, and generosity. Several donor-recipient pairs will be honored on the field and participate in ceremonial first pitches, celebrating the life-changing impact that living donation has on individuals and families.
Throughout the evening, fans will have the opportunity to learn more about living liver donation through programming provided by the Living Liver Foundation and the Mass General Brigham Transplant Center. The event aims to encourage conversations about organ donation, dispel common misconceptions, and inspire others to consider the profound difference a living donor can make.
