HYANNIS, Mass. (July 29, 2026) – The Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) and the Wareham Gatemen are combining forces for a special night on the diamond. The CCBL will co-host Inclusion Night on Friday, July 31st, as the Wareham Gatemen take on the Bourne Braves at Spillane Field at 6:00 p.m.
Presented by Boston Children’s Museum, the evening will highlight both Special Olympics Massachusetts (brought by Boston Children's Museum) and Community Connections (brought by Beacon Insurance) as co-headliners celebrating community, accessibility, and athletic achievements. Water Wizz will serve as the official game sponsor for the evening.
Inclusion Night aims to raise awareness and support for programs providing year-round sports training and community services for individuals with disabilities across the Commonwealth.
Throughout the night, attendees will have the opportunity to interact with players while learning more about the mission and impact of Special Olympics Massachusetts and Community Connections. The festivities will include an on-field recognition of Special Olympics and Community Connections athletes, ceremonial first pitches, and a “Play Ball!” announcement led by participating athletes. Athletes will also have the opportunity to meet CCBL players in a meet-and-greet autograph session. Following the conclusion of the game, children in attendance will be invited onto the field for Kids Run the Bases for an exciting way to end an evening celebrating inclusion and community.
Fans attending the game are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy pregame ceremonies and support the participating organizations.

About the Cape Cod Baseball League
The Cape Cod Baseball League (Cape League), a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is the premier collegiate summer baseball league in the United States, officially formed in 1923, but with roots dating back to 1885. Players from across the United States, representing all NCAA college divisions, are recruited to play in the 10-team league.
