Last Time Out - Bourne
On a wet Sunday afternoon, the Brewster Whitecaps got the best of Bourne. The Whitecaps took an early 2-0 lead after the first inning on a pair of soft RBI-base hits. As rain started to fall, the Braves struck back with their only run in the fifth, coming on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Rustan Rigdon (Vanderbilt). However, Brewster extended their lead with two runs in the sixth, giving them a 4-1 lead before the game was called in the seventh.
Last Time Out - Falmouth
It’s safe to say the Commodores had a pretty rough weekend. After a 14-2 loss to the league-worst Wareham Gatemen on Saturday, Falmouth suffered a 15-1 loss to Y-D on Sunday. For most of the contest, the Commodores weren’t getting blown out. Going into the ninth, they found themselves down 5-0. That deficit expanded, though, as the Red Sox exploded for a 10-run inning. Falmouth scored a run in the bottom of the ninth to avoid the shutout.

The Braves can clinch a season series win over the Commodores today. Coming into the matchup, Bourne is 2-1-1 against Falmouth. In their most recent matchup, the Bravos scored an 8-1 win at Doran Park.
Player to Watch - Bourne
The Braves are adding a few new players to gear up for the playoffs, but none stand out as much as infielder Ryan Piekutoski. The West Virginia transfer played his freshman season at the JUCO level with USC-Sumter. Over 55 games, Piekutoski hit .463 with 25 home runs and an OPS of 1.680. With Bourne losing a few important bats over the last week, Piekutoski is a candidate to fill holes in their lineup.
Player to Watch - Falmouth
Though Blake Schaaf (Wake Forest) and Andrew Costello (South Carolina) hold the top two spots for batting average in the CCBL, Falmouth’s Brayden Jefferis (Michigan) isn’t too far behind. The Commodores’ infielder is hitting .349 with 12 RBI through 21 games this summer. Jefferis also has hits in 15 of his last 16 games.
