Cotuit - LHP Landon Doll (Marshall): 2.0 IP, 4.50 ERA
Last Time Out - Bourne
The Braves bounced back from back-to-back losses in strong fashion on Sunday. Bourne put up 10 runs, their second-most of the season, over five different innings. Blake Schaaf (Wake Forest) had one of his best games of the season, collecting four hits in the victory. Andrew Costello also added to his breakout season with four RBI. On the pitching side, the Braves’ bullpen shut out the Kettleers.
Last Time Out - Cotuit
One run in the third inning was all the Kettleers needed to pick up a victory over the Harbor Hawks on Sunday. The score came on an RBI groundout off the bat of Jake Hanley (Indiana). The Kettleers also had solid pitching in the game, keeping Hyannis off the board with only six hits and four walks.
Previous Matchup
The Braves have yet to lose to the Kettleers this season, tying 3-3 in their first matchup before picking up a walk-off 4-3 win in their second game.
Player to Watch - Bourne
Though Blake Schaaf’s four hits stole the show in Tuesday’s win, Rustan Rigdon also had a breakout performance. The Braves’ All-Star had three hits in the game, the second time he’s done so in the last five games. After a slow June for Rigdon, he’s batting .313 so far through July with five RBI.
Player to Watch - Cotuit
Over the past week, no one has been hotter at the plate for Cotuit than Noah Coy (Notre Dame). The Kettleers’ infielder has seven hits over his last four games, good for a .538 batting average and 1.369 OPS. Coy also drove in seven runs over that span, tied for the most in the CCBL.
