Falmouth (15-17-2) took a tough 14-2 run-rule loss at Spillane Field at the hands of the surging Wareham Gatemen (11-22). A 10-run third inning ended up being the Commodores’ undoing on Saturday night.

The win for Wareham started with a two RBI Henry DiGiorgio (Northeastern) single and a run-scoring groundout from Dylan Dubovik (Miami) that constituted a three-run second inning. The Gatemen poured it on in the third, highlighted by Cooper Tarantino’s (Northeastern) double to cap the scoring and push the score to 13-0. All 10 runs scored by Wareham came with two outs in the inning.

Gavin Greger (Rutgers) gave the ‘Dores their only pair of runs on an RBI single in the fourth, extending his hitting streak to six games as Falmouth eventually dropped the contest in a shortened seven innings.

Falmouth remains tied for second place with Hyannis as they seek to take a win over the Cape League’s best in Yarmouth-Dennis. First pitch from Guv Fuller Field is at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday evening.
