Taking on the Harwich Mariners, the Braves have a chance to clinch their fourth CCBL title of the last five years in today’s winner-take-all Game 3. The game will be played at Whitehouse Field, with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m. ET.

Last Time Out - Game 2
After an electric Game 1, neither team could find much offense in Game 2. Rather, it was a pitchers' duel between Bourne’s Noah Scott (Oregon State) and Harwich’s Bryan Matuschat (Sacred Heart). Each pitcher made it into the seventh inning before facing trouble. For Scott, that meant surrendering the only run of the contest. The Braves’ starter left the game with runners on second and third with one out. Despite a solid relief performance by Aiden Stillman (Vanderbilt), the Mariners were able to bring one run home. That’s all they would need, as Bourne couldn’t convert with runners in scoring position in the last three innings and fell 1-0.
Players to Watch - Bourne
The Braves will need to rely on more than one player to power the offense today. For Bourne, the weak spot in these playoffs has been the bottom of the batting order. Guys like Brice Estep (South Carolina) and Justin Osterhouse (Alabama) have struggled to produce on offense this postseason. In order for Bourne to score a championship, they’ll need production throughout the order.
Player to Watch - Harwich
The Mariners were only able to muster three hits in yesterday’s one-run performance, but Tyler Smolinski (Kansas State) had two of them. The league MVP has raised his postseason batting average to .273 after a quiet start, but will need to continue his hot stretch for the Mariners to come out on top.
