MLB All Stars new

The Falmouth Commodores are excited to once again be represented in the MLB All-Star Game (ASG) with three former players.

Playing on the American League (AL) team will be Adley Rutschman (Baltimore Orioles) and Travis Bazzana (Cleveland Guardians). The lone Commodore alumni on the National League (NL) team is Justin Wrobleski (LA Dodgers).

Adley Rutschman was on the Commodores during the 2017 season. This All-Star game will be Rutschman’s third time competing in the All-Star game, having played in the 2023 and 2024 All-Star Games. The catcher is batting .252 with eight home runs and 43 RBIs in 58 games. He has had a strong defensive season, throwing out 15 out of 40 runners trying to steal bases. That translates to 37.5%, which is far above his career-best of 30.6% from his rookie season in 2022. Rutschman was the first overall MLB Draft pick in 2019.

Travis Bazzana played for the Commodores in 2023 and had a stellar season. The Australian second baseman batted .382 with 31 RBIs and stealing 16 bases during his time with the ‘Dores. Bazzana was the first overall pick in 2024, selected by the Cleveland Guardians. This season, Bazzana has a batting average of .238 with seven home runs and 38 RBIs.

Justin Wrobleski was on the Commodores during the 2019 season. He pitched in nine games, starting three and finishing one game over a period of 23 innings. This will be Wrobleski’s first MLB ASG. His ERA this season is 2.69, with 16 games played. He has started 15 of those 16 with 100 innings pitched.

The MLB All-Star game will take place on Tuesday, July 14th at Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies. The game will start at 8:00 p.m. EST.
