The Mariners are 28 games into the season and are in third place in the East Division with a 17-11 record. This past week the Mariners went 3-2, losing to Brewster and Y-D. The Mariners picked up big wins at Y-D, Orleans and Falmouth.
The Mariners offense was the fifth highest scoring offense in the league. The pitching staff finished the week with the eighth lowest ERA with a 4.50.
This week, our trio is composed of pitcher TJ Ziermann, infielder Cade Kurland, and outfielder Niko Brini.
TJ Ziermann | UNCW | RHP
TJ Ziermann saw action in the win over the Falmouth Commodores Thursday as a bullpen arm that came in in the top of the fifth inning. Ziermann is the third Mariner to have multiple appearances in the Trident Trio. In the last two appearances, the young arm pitched nine innings total out of the bullpen and hasn’t given up a single run. Ziermann only allowed three Commodores to reach base in his outing against the Commodores, via one walk and two hits. TJ also had four strikeouts in the shutout performance.

Cade Kurland | LSU commit | second base
Cade Kurland became the first Harwich Mariner this season to win the Cape League “Player of the Week.” Kurland batted .429 this week for Harwich in 19 at-bats. Kurland had multiple hits in four out of the five games this week. The future LSU Tiger also led the league last week with a .737 slugging percentage. Kurland left the yard Wednesday on a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning against Orleans.
Niko Brini | Vanderbilt commit | outfielder
Niko Brini returned after playing for Harwich in 2025 . Brini only hit .233 in his tenure with Harwich last season. In his first week back, the future Vanderbilt Commodore is already batting .333 in 18 at-bats. Brini joined Ty Smolinski Thursday against Falmouth as the only Mariners with a triple on the season. Brini's two-run triple came in the 5-2 win.
Brini’s glove might have been better than his bat last week. In his first game back against Brewster, Brini made two incredible catches in right field. One being a diving grab to end the inning. Brini also made a running catch against Falmouth when he ran into the bleachers at Guv Fuller Field to make the catch.
