The Mariners are 13 games into the season and are second place in the East Division with an 8-5 record. This past week the Mariners went 3-2, losing two of their road games, at Cotuit and Chatham. The Mariners picked up big wins at Hyannis and when hosting Bourne and Wareham.
The Mariners offense slowed down this week, ranking fifth in offense production in the week. The pitching has been below league average, posting a 4.81 ERA and allowing batters to bat .249 (both second highest in the league).
This week, our trio is composed of starting pitcher Jakob Schulz, left fielder Jackson Hotchkiss, and first Trident Trio repeat selection, Colin Larson.
Jakob Schulz | Houston commit | LHP
Jakob Schulz started for the Mariners against Bourne for the teams’ second matchup of the summer. Bourne came into the game being a top-three offense in the league. Schulz went on to have one of the most dominant starts for a Mariner. Schulz pitched six innings and only allowed one run and four Braves to reach base. At one point in the game Schulz had 15 straight putouts. The left-handed pitcher had four strikeouts as well to go along with his start.
Schulz has now pitched 12 innings for the Mariners striking out ten and has only allowed five hits and two runs.

Jackson Hotchkiss | Arizona State | OF
Jackson Hotchkiss has completed his first week of baseball with the Mariners since arriving and has shined. The outfielder in four games is batting .278. It's not just Hotchkiss that is getting hits; it's when he does, it's almost always for extra bases. Hotchkiss, through four games, already has a pair of doubles and a home run. Hotchkiss is also slugging .556, the sixth-best in the league in the past week.
Colin Larson | Boston College | OF
It was impossible to leave Larson out of the trio this week. It was his defensive plays and base running that got him on last week's trio but this week he has been the best bat in the Mariners’ lineup, perhaps in the league.
In the past week, Larson led the league in batting average (.500), slugging (.929), home runs (2), and on-base percentage (.632). Larson had his first two home runs of the season in back to back games against Wareham and Hyannis. Larson played his best game against Hyannis going 4-for-4 with two RBIs in the 10-6 win.
