How they got there
The top-seeded Y-D Red Sox edged the Orleans Firebirds, 1-0, in their postseason opener. The combined shutout from Carson Ballard (Georgia Tech), Sean Youngerman (Westmont) and Aiven Cabral (Northeastern) and the game's only run in the bottom of the sixth inning were enough for the Red Sox to advance to the East Division Championship Series.
The third-seeded Harwich Mariners outlasted the Chatham Anglers, 7-5, in the opening round. The Mariners tied things up in the ninth when Aiden Robbins (Seton Hall) singled to score Cam Maldonado (Northeastern), who led off the inning with a triple.
