HYANNIS, Mass. (July 5, 2026) - Orleans Firebirds outfielder Rowan Kelly and Brewster Whitecaps left-hander Payton Manca have been named the Franklin Sports Player of the Week and the Baseball Lifestyle 101 Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for the week of June 28-July 4, the Cape Cod Baseball League announced Sunday.
Kelly, a power hitter out of the University of California, Santa Barbara, earned the honor after posting a league-leading 11 hits while batting 11-for-23, while boasting a 0.478/0.600/0.652 slash line with a 1.252 OPS across six games. The outfielder shined against Hyannis on June 28, with three hits including a double and a triple, and then followed up with a four-hit performance on July 3 against Chatham.
Manca, a left-hander at Florida State University, dominated the mound, pitching eight innings across two outings and not allowing a single run. In starts against Falmouth and Harwich, Manca tallied 10 strikeouts and just two walks allowed.
Manca concluded his campaign with five shutout innings on Independence Day against Harwich, while also scattering three hits and striking out five Mariners. He has been one of the Cape League’s top pitchers this summer, ranking second in the league with a 0.57 ERA while striking out 20 players in 15.2 innings in over three weeks of play.
