The Braves went into the All-Star break on a high note with a 7-2 victory over the Wareham Gatemen. RHP Noah Scott (Oregon State) recorded his best outing as a Brave in the game, throwing five scoreless innings. On offense, Bourne put up runs in the fourth, fifth, and seventh innings before a three-run eighth frame sealed the win.
Last Time Out - Orleans
The Firebirds lost their fourth straight and 20th overall game last Friday against Hyannis. Entering the eighth inning, the two teams were tied with a run each. In the top of the frame, the Harbor Hawks took the lead on a wild pitch and added three more runs on a pair of RBI singles. Going into the bottom of the eighth down 5-1, Orleans rallied for two but was silent for the rest of the game for a 5-3 loss.
Previous Matchup
Tonight’s matchup will be the fourth and final game between the two teams this season. Bourne will be looking to clinch their first season series sweep of the year, entering tonight’s matchup 3-0 against Orleans this season.
Player to Watch - Bourne
No one has been more reliable for the Braves this season than RHP Jackson Kircher. Coming in from the bullpen eight times this summer, Kircher has yet to allow a run over 12.2 innings. He has also compiled 17 strikeouts, the most by any Braves’ reliever this season.
Player to Watch - Orleans
For the Firebirds, keep an eye out for Casey Cumiskey (SNHU). The Orleans infielder has multiple hits and a run scored in each of his last five appearances. Over that five-game span, he’s hitting .500 with an OPS of 1.145 and has only struck out twice.
