Following back-to-back shutout losses on the road, the Bourne Braves look to regroup at home against the Wareham Gatemen. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m. ET. The Braves are coming off a 4-0 defeat by Falmouth, while Wareham is coming off their sixth victory of the year.

Probables

Bourne - RHP Tyler Baird (Vanderbilt): 0 IP, 0.00 ERA

Wareham - RHP Ethan Baiotto (Tennessee): 15.2 IP, 1.15 ERA

Last Time Out - Bourne

The Braves put up a goose egg in the score column for the second straight game in Saturday’s matchup with the Commodores. Falmouth scored the first two runs of the contest in the fourth thanks to a pair of Bourne errors. With the score at 2-0 in the eighth, the Commodores scored two more runs for insurance. The Braves managed five hits in the contest and only had three runners reach scoring position.

Last Time Out - Wareham

The Gatemen broke out of a two-game losing streak with their victory on Saturday over the Hyannis Harbor Hawks. Wareham got off to a quick lead, scoring six runs through the first three innings. The Harbor Hawks had a three-run fifth inning to bring the game within striking distance, but would only get one more run in the final four innings. The Gatemen added an insurance run and won with a final score of 7-4.

Previous Matchup

The Braves and Gatemen have played twice this season, splitting the season series 1-1. Wareham picked up a 7-5 victory on July 3, but Bourne responded the next day with a win on a walk-off single from Rustan Rigdon (Vanderbilt).

Players to Watch - Bourne

Today’s players to watch are the entire Braves’ offense. There have been a handful of new faces for the Braves’ offense over the past couple games, which could be a reason the bats are struggling. After back-to-back shutout losses, Bourne’s matchup with the last-place Gatemen will be a true test of what this offense can do.

Player to Watch - Wareham

RJ Hamilton has been the best player in the struggling Gatemen offense. Hamilton has four hits over the past week, the most by any Wareham player. When he gets on, Hamilton has posed a threat on the bases. This season, he leads the Gatemen with nine stolen bases and 12 runs scored.
