After suffering their first shutout loss of the season on Friday, the Bourne Braves look to get back on track against the Falmouth Commodores. First pitch is set for 6:05 p.m. ET. The Bravos are coming off a 2-0 loss to the Y-D Red Sox, while the Commodores had their Friday matchup with the Wareham Gatemen suspended due to rain.

Probables

Bourne - RHP Austin Musso (Arizona State): 11.2 IP, 2.31 ERA

Falmouth - RHP Colby Putnam (Gardner-Webb): 2.1 IP, 0.00 ERA

Last Time Out - Bourne

Facing the league-leading Y-D Red Sox, the Braves couldn’t pull off the upset on Friday night. Bourne’s offense was shut out, managing only two hits in the contest. Y-D starter Easton Teel (Oral Roberts) threw five no-hit innings, and the Red Sox bullpen did the rest. Braves’ starter RHP Noah Scott (Oregon State) gave up two earned runs over 3.2 innings, but the bullpen continued their streak of dominance with another shutout performance.

Last Time Out - Falmouth

The Commodores only got through two full innings before their matchup with the Gatemen was suspended. In that time, though, they fell into a 3-0 hole. Wareham came out of the gate with a two-homer first inning that gave them all three runs. The rest of the game will be played on Monday afternoon.

Previous Matchup

The Braves haven’t lost the Commodores this season, with one win and one tie in their two matchups. In their most recent matchup last Sunday, Bourne recorded a no-hitter against the Commodores.

Player to Watch - Bourne

Austin Musso is slated to make his first start of the summer after four appearances from the bullpen. In those appearances, Musso has thrown 11.2 innings and has a 2.31 ERA. Musso has taken the role of a long reliever for the Braves this season, with no outing being shorter than 2.0 innings, setting him up well for a starting role.

Player to Watch - Falmouth

Ben Slanker (Louisville) has been the Commodores’ strongest bat in the lineup over the past couple weeks. Slankers is hitting .344 over the last 15 days and has driven in seven runs. However, Slanker also has a high risk of striking out. In the last two weeks, he has the third most strikeouts (12) of any player in the CCBL.
