Cape League alum Travis Bazzana selected first overall by Cleveland Guardians

The Cleveland Guardians drafted former Cape Leaguer Travis Bazzana with the No. 1 pick in the MLB Draft

HYANNIS, Mass. 一 With the first pick in the 2024 MLB Draft, the Cleveland Guardians selected Oregon State second baseman Travis Bazzana (Falmouth '23).

Bazzana became the sixth Cape League player in seven years to be selected with the No. 1 pick in the MLB Draft. He becomes the first Australian to be drafted in the first round of the MLB Draft.

The former Beaver hit .382 on the Cape, knocking in 31 RBI and stealing 16 bases.
