Wareham Gatemen second baseman Bobby Boser and Cotuit Kettleers right-handed pitcher Michael Ebner have been named the Cape Cod Baseball League Players of the Week, presented by Del Mar Vacation Rentals, for the week of June 22-28, the league announced Monday.

Boser, Wareham’s 21-year-old second baseman from the University of South Florida, slashed .429/.538/.714 on his way to winning hitter of the week. He picked up nine hits over the course of the week, with four of them going for extra bases. Boser also swiped two bases in Wareham’s six games.

Boser played a crucial role in Wareham’s 5-1 week, as it ended the second week of play tied with Cotuit atop the West Division. Boser and the Gatemen will look to continue their hot stretch when they travel to Whitehouse Field to take on the Harwich Mariners on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Ebner, the 20-year-old right-handed pitcher from the University of Southern California, pitched six innings across two games for Cotuit. In those six frames, Ebner didn’t allow a hit, striking out four batters and walking only two. Cotuit won both of those games, and Ebner was credited with the win in each.

Among qualified pitchers, Ebner leads the Cape League in WHIP (0.22) and batting average against (0.00). On Friday, he pitched 3 1/3 shutout innings against Bourne, allowing Cotuit to stage a come-from-behind victory. After the off day, Ebner and the Kettleers square off against the Orleans Firebirds at Lowell Park in Cotuit at 5 p.m.
