HYANNIS, Mass. (Dec. 12, 2025) - As the 2026 World Baseball Classic takes the global stage over the month of March, the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) is proud to announce that more than 70 former players are representing their respective nations in the tournament. This milestone reinforces the Cape League’s long-standing reputation as the premier proving ground for future international superstars.

Spanning rosters across the 20 competing nations, CCBL alumni are making an immediate impact in pool play in Miami, Houston, San Juan and Tokyo. From perennial powerhouses like Team USA and Team Dominican Republic, to rising contenders, the CCBL is represented in every corner of the bracket.

The tournament features several high-profile CCBL alumni who once dazzled fans at iconic venues like Veterans Field in Chatham and Lowell Park in Cotuit. Sticking close to home, Team USA is led by captain and former Brewster Whitecap Aaron Judge. The American roster is bolstered by stars like Kyle Schwarber (Wareham) and Cal Raleigh (Harwich). On the mound, the rotation features dominant arms like Paul Skenes (Wareham) and Joe Ryan (Orleans).

"Seeing over 70 of our alumni on this stage is a testament to the level of talent that comes to the Cape every summer," Cape Cod Baseball League President Andrew Lang said. "The WBC is a celebration of the game’s global growth, and we are honored that the road to international glory often runs through Cape Cod."

In the 2025 MLB season, 400 Cape League alumni appeared on Major League rosters. The transition of these players to the World Baseball Classic highlights the league's role not just in American baseball, but in shaping the global landscape of the sport.

As the tournament moves toward the championship round in Miami on March 17, the CCBL invites fans to follow their favorite former "Cape Leaguers" as they compete for world dominance.
