The Y-D Red Sox had five representatives in the 2025 Cape Cod All-Star Game, all of whom saw playing time Saturday afternoon. They helped propel the East Division All-Stars to a 13-8 victory over the West Division at Red Wilson Field.

Starting pitcher Brady Hamilton got the nod for the East All-Stars on his birthday, coming off a spectacular first half in which he started five games and posted a 1.21 ERA with a 1.03 WHIP. Command has been a point of focus for Hamilton with Y-D, as he’s allowed only four walks over 22 1/3 innings of work. He needed just eight pitches to complete the first inning, surrendering a single before inducing a double play to end the frame.

“It was a lot of fun today. (I) had family in town, it was my birthday, and I got the start. It was a really fun day going out there,” Hamilton said. “It was only one inning, but I had a lot of fun.”

Dean Carpentier earned the start at first base, becoming the second Y-D player in the East Division’s starting lineup. The sophomore from USC reached base once via a walk — one of just two free passes drawn by the East. He has been outstanding with Y-D, posting an .882 OPS over 23 games.

“It was a blast to play in front of a bunch of good competition and a bunch of scouts. Here at our hometown park, it was a blast, and an experience that I won’t forget,” Carpentier said after the game Saturday. “All-Star games are for the vibes and the fun. I was stoked to come out here.”

Tyler Pitzer pitched two-thirds of an inning, striking out two while issuing only one walk. He’s been one of Y-D’s top relievers, with a 0.57 ERA and 1.09 WHIP over 15 2/3 innings. Shortstop Yomar Carreras also saw action, showcasing elite defense at the position over the final five innings of the game.

Manager Scott Pickler called on right-hander Dominic Desch to close out the game in the ninth inning — and he did just that. Desch has been electric for Y-D this summer, posting a 3.38 ERA and 1.28 WHIP. He recorded the final two outs of the game, needing just two pitches to finish the inning.

The East Division won in commanding fashion, scoring 13 runs in the full nine-inning game. The 21 total runs were the most ever recorded in CCBL All-Star Game history. Both teams combined for six home runs and totaled 30 hits.

After the official Home Run Derby — won by Bourne’s Kuhio Aloy (Arkansas) — the league’s All-Stars recreated the spectacle in even more dramatic fashion during the game itself. The estimated crowd of 6,137 far exceeded expectations.
