The Cape Cod Baseball League’s brightest stars from the 2024 season will shine under the lights at Guv Fuller Field — the home of the Falmouth Commodores — in the All-Star Game on July 27. Today, the Cape League released its East and West Division All-Stars. Here’s what you need to know about the 28 West Division All-Stars:

Starters:

Catcher: Karson Bowen (Falmouth, TCU)

TCU’s Karson Bowen broke onto the scene his freshman year in 2023, earning a USA Baseball Collegiate National Team invite and being named a Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American. His sophomore season was a bit slower and was less productive at the plate, but his defense behind the dish saw improvement. With the Falmouth Commodores this summer, he is slashing .269/.372/.358.

First base: Tanner Thach (Cotuit, UNCW)

The 2024 CAA Player of the Year, Thach came to the Cape League off a sophomore season with UNCW where he hit 27 long balls and drove in 75 runs, and his success has translated to be crucial to the Cotuit lineup. The rising junior has been seeing the ball well, smashing eight homers in his 26 games with the Cape League.

Second base: Jarren Advincula (Cotuit, California)

The Cotuit second baseman will be starting on the dirt for the CCBL All-Star Game after having electrified the Cape League. After a breakout first season at Cal that garnered him a First Team All-Pac-12 honor, Advincula has become one of the most consistent bats of the summer. He leads the league in batting average — an absurd .417 clip — as well as hits, and is No. 3 in OBP and inside the top 10 in OPS.

Third base: Triston Gray (Wareham, Fresno State)

Fresno State’s Triston ‘Murf’ Gray will be starting at the hot corner for the West Division in the All-Star Game. Grey has been lighting up the West for the Gatemen, especially in July, where he is batting .393. He is second in the Cape League in both hits, doubles, XBH and No. 1 in total bases. He was recently named No. 21 on Baseball America’s Top 2025 MLB Draft prospects.

Shortstop: Marek Houston (Bourne, Wake Forest)

Demon Deacon Marek Houston shined in his time with the Bourne Braves, sandwiching a trip to the USA National Team in between. The infielder earned a Third-Team All-ACC selection after leading the team in batting average and coming up big for the Deacs. In July, Houston has 28 hits and is batting .343 with two three-hit games. Overall, Houston is bringing energy to the Braves, slashing .350/.500/.383 in 18 games.

Outfield: Brendan Summerhill (Wareham, Arizona)

The Pac-12 All-Conference outfielder has found his stride with the Wareham Gatemen this summer. With Arizona, he slashed .324/.399/.550 in his sophomore campaign, including knocking 59 RBI. This summer, Summerhill has been consistent for the Gatemen with a .318 batting average. His biggest highlight this summer was against Chatham in June when he went 3-for-5 with a whopping six RBI, including a grand slam.

Outfield: Ethan Conrad (Bourne, Wake Forest)

Bourne’s Ethan Conrad has earned another one of the coveted All-Star starting outfield spots. Conrad’s stats hit the springboard after his 2023 season with Marist College, with a .704 SLG giving him the opportunity to enter the transfer portal and head to Wake Forest. He started his Cape League career hot, hitting .500 in the month of June. Since then he has cooled off somewhat, still hitting an impressive .351 with two homers.

Outfield: Jayson Jones (Falmouth, Arkansas)

Falmouth’s Jayson Jones didn’t appear in many games in his first two years at Arkansas but has found success with Falmouth. He is averaging just over a hit per game for the Commodores to go along with seven doubles. That’s enough to be tied for third in the league, as well as recording an OPS of .812.

Designated hitter: Braden Holcomb (Bourne, Vanderbilt)

Holcomb was ranked by Perfect Game as the No. 10 overall player in Florida coming out of high school and was in and out of the lineup in his freshman season at Vanderbilt. Holcomb has found his stride at the plate with the Braves this summer, hitting .306 with 30 hits and 12 RBI.

Pitcher: Aaron Savary (Hyannis, Iowa)

Savary, the hometown Iowan, appeared in 18 games for the Hawkeyes during his sophomore campaign, starting two and recording a 4.19 ERA. With Hyannis in the Cape League this summer, Savary ranks third in ERA (1.69) across 21 ⅓ innings pitched with 26 punchouts (sixth). He is also holding opponents to a .134 batting average, one of the best in the league.

Ebner 31

Reserves:

Catcher: Sam White (Wareham, West Virginia)

White hit .305 with 10 long balls for the West Virginia Mountaineers in his 2024 season. With the Gatemen this summer, White is slashing .258/.380/.409 with five multi-hit games. He had a summer-best five-RBI game against the Chatham Anglers in early July where he went 2-for-2 with two walks and a grand slam.

First base: Michael Dattalo (Hyannis, DBU)

Dattalo, as a freshman at Northwestern State, was named an All-American by Collegiate Baseball and then transferred to Dallas Baptist. In his first season with the Patriots, Dattalo hit .345 with 80 hits and eight homers in 59 games. As a Harbor Hawk, Dattalo is slashing .281/.345/.385 with 17 RBI.

Second base: Eric Snow (Hyannis, Auburn)

A 2023 Freshman All-American, Snow had a bit of a sophomore slump after his breakout freshman season at UCF. He recently announced his transfer to Auburn after a 2024 season where he slashed .248/.333/.325. This summer with Hyannis, Snow has found success at the plate, hitting .361 with two homers and 15 RBI. He ranks sixth in the Cape League in both AVG and OBP (.435).

Third base: Jaxon Willits (Falmouth, Oklahoma)

Falmouth’s Jaxon Willits had a breakout first season at Oklahoma where he was named to the Big-12 All-Freshman team. With the Cape League, Willits has had a good eye at the plate; with the Commodores, he’s taken 16 walks to go with 10 RBI and has recorded a .739 OPS.

Outfield: Kane Kepley (Hyannis, North Carolina)

The Salisbury, North Carolina, native Kepley just announced his transfer to UNC-Chapel Hill after slashing .319/.469/.480 in his two years with the Liberty Flames. In 100 at-bats for Hyannis this summer, Kepley is hitting .280 with six doubles and two homers. He’s also swiped 15 bags, which ranks third in the league, and leads in runs scored.

Outfield: Brandon Compton (Cotuit, ASU)

Compton hit an impressive .354 for the Sun Devils this past season on his way to winning the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year award. He has continued that success with Cotuit, where he has smashed four homers and driven in 22 runs (fifth in the CCBL). Compton is slashing .312/.407/.455 and has drawn 16 walks.

Utility: Yohann Dessureault (Wareham, Stetson)

Quebec native Dessureault hit .293 in his sophomore season with Stetson while starting 63 games at second base. With the Gatemen, he is slashing .338/. 375/.515 with six doubles and two homers in 20 games.

Utility: Chris Stanfield (Bourne, Auburn)

Stanfield came to Bourne after two productive seasons with the Auburn Tigers where he slashed .278/.365/.401 across both campaigns. This summer he is hitting .252 with two homers and 13 RBI.

Utility: Trent Caraway (Falmouth, Oregon State)

Caraway, the California native, only appeared in 18 games in his freshman year for the Beavers but posted a .339 batting average with two homers. In the Cape League for Falmouth, Caraway is slashing .313/.400/.500 with three homers and 14 RBI.

Pitcher: Will McCausland (Bourne, Ole Miss)

McCausland spent his first two years at St. Joseph’s and pitched a combined 155 ⅔ total innings with a 5.09 ERA and a whopping 159 punchouts. This offseason he transferred to Ole Miss and will be a Rebel for the upcoming season. With the Bourne Braves, McCausland has pitched 11 innings, recording a 1.64 ERA with 13 strikeouts.

Pitcher: Casey Hintz (Hyannis, Arizona)

Hintz, the occasional two-way player and 2024 Pac-12 All-Conference Honorable Mention, had a breakout sophomore season for Arizona. He was a key bullpen arm, recording 32 ⅔ innings and posting a 4.13 ERA with 24 strikeouts. For the Hyannis Harbor Hawks, Hintz has 11 innings on the bump with a 2.65 ERA and a victory.

Pitcher: Joe Ariola (Bourne, Wake Forest)

Ariola came off a sophomore season of limited work for the Demon Deacons with season-best outings against ECU and UNC. In his tenure with the Bourne Braves this summer, the southpaw has pitched 18 innings; he’s started three games and posted a 6.00 ERA with 24 strikeouts.

Pitcher: Tate McGuire (Wareham, Arkansas)

McGuire barely touched the mound for Arkansas in his freshman season last year, recording only 1 ⅔ innings of work. With the Wareham Gatemen this summer, he has pitched 21 innings to a 2.14 ERA with 24 strikeouts.

Pitcher: Tony Pluta (Wareham, Arizona)

Pluta became a key piece of the bullpen for the Arizona Wildcats in his sophomore campaign. He recorded a 3.07 ERA — four points lower than his previous season — in 29 ⅓ innings pitched; he’s limited opposing batters to a .213 average. This summer, the Wareham righty has pitched 15 ⅔ innings to a 1.72 ERA with two holds and eight strikeouts.

Pitcher: Jacob Faulkner (Wareham, Princeton)

Faulkner broke the single-season appearance record for Princeton in 2023 and saw his inning count tick up even more in 2024. He posted a 3.14 ERA in his sophomore campaign for the Tigers through 66 innings of work with 52 punchouts. As a Gateman with the Cape League, Faulkner has pitched 17 innings to a 2.65 ERA with two victories and a 0.76 WHIP.

Pitcher: Justin West (Bourne, Louisville)

West missed almost all of his freshman season at Louisville due to injury and made 12 appearances in his sophomore campaign. As a Bourne Brave this summer, he’s recorded a 3.86 ERA in 11 ⅔ innings pitched while striking out 20.

Pitcher: Parker Coil (Falmouth, Arkansas)

Across his two collegiate seasons at Arkansas, Coil has 40 ⅔ innings of work to his name with a 6.86 ERA. In his time with the Falmouth Commodores, he’s appeared in eight games, recording 20 ⅓ innings and posting an ERA of 5.75 with 20 strikeouts.

Pitcher: Michael Ebner (Cotuit, USC)

Ebner saw limited work in his freshman year for USC but became a bullpen weapon in his sophomore season. He carried that mojo to the Cape League, where he has been one of the best stoppers of the summer — earning a Pitcher of the Week honor in the process. He leads the league in opponent batting average with an insane .037 mark and 0.44 WHIP. Ebner didn’t give up a run until July 12 against Harwich and has posted a 2.00 ERA across 18 innings pitched.
