
The Cape League announced the All-Star rosters on Saturday and Yarmouth-Dennis boasts six players on the East Division roster. The All-Star game is set to take place on Saturday, July 27, at Guv Fuller Field in Falmouth.
Y-D has six All-Stars for the second straight season has the second-most players among East Division teams. The Red Sox also have three starters, which is tied for the second most among all Cape League teams.
The Red Sox have the most pitchers on the team, including right-hander Braden Osbolt (Kennesaw State), who was named the starting pitcher for the East. Osbolt leads the Cape League with a 0.44 ERA and has allowed just one run over 20 ⅔ innings. The pitch-to-contact standout is third in WHIP with a 0.82 mark and fourth in batting average against at .143.
Trevor Moore (Stanford) was named to the All-Star team. He is leading the league with seven saves and has 26 strikeouts in 13 ⅔ innings. Moore is fourth among all pitchers in punchouts and has yet to allow a run this summer. Opponents are hitting a lowly .156 against Moore, who has a 0.95 WHIP.
Sean Youngerman (Oklahoma State) is the other Y-D starting pitcher placed on the All-Star team alongside Osbolt. The Division II All-American has gone the last 12 ⅔ innings scoreless, is third on the Cape with 28 strikeouts and has a 2.75 ERA.
Right-hander Aiven Cabral (Northeastern) is the fourth Y-D hurler on the East Division roster and is the league leader in wins. Cabral has 17 strikeouts in 12 ⅔ innings and began his summer stint with 9 ⅔ scoreless innings.
The Red Sox also have a pair of All-Star starters on offense with Ethan Petry (South Carolina) and Easton Carmichael (Oklahoma). Petry was given the nod in the outfield and Carmichael is slated to start as the designated hitter.
Petry leads the Cape League with a 1.225 OPS and a .738 slugging percentage. He stands second with a .487 on-base percentage and has 11 extra-base hits with four home runs. Carmichael has 25 hits with six doubles and 16 RBI.
