How they got there

Bourne

The Braves won a tight West Division on the final day of the regular season, locking them in as the No. 1 seed in the process. They defeated the Hyannis Harbor Hawks in three games in the Divisional Series and drew a matchup with the Cotuit Kettleers in the Divisional Finals.

The Braves won Game 1 at home in blowout fashion but dropped Game 2 at Cotuit. They trailed late in Game 3, but late-inning heroics from Jason Torres (Alabama) and Gavin Kelly (West Virginia) led to a 13th-inning walk-off, sending Bourne to its fifth straight Championship Series.

Bourne, managed by Scott Landers, is in search of its fifth Cape League Championship, which would be its third in four years. The Braves are the first team since the 1966-72 Falmouth Commodores to make at least four straight Championship Series.

Yarmouth-Dennis

The Red Sox recorded the longest win streak of the 2025 regular season at nine games, but fell to the No. 4 seed in the East Division playoffs. They drew a matchup with the 2025 President’s Trophy recipient Orleans Firebirds, but reclaimed their spark and eliminated Orleans in two games.

In the Divisional Finals, the Red Sox took on the Harwich Mariners in a rematch of last year’s East Divisional Final, where Harwich swept them. After a 13-inning marathon that involved the game being suspended for darkness in Game 2, the Red Sox had to head back to Whitehouse Field for Game 3. They flipped the script this year, and seven runs from its offense on the backs of Will Baker (Georgia Tech) and Nick Costello (UC San Diego) sent Y-D to its first Championship Series since 2016.

Scott Pickler, the winningest manager in Cape League history, now leads the Red Sox into the Championship Series in search of their 11th title.
