WEST YARMOUTH, Mass. 一 The Cape Cod Baseball League is thrilled to announce the schedule for the first round of the 2024 playoffs. A notable change to the 2024 Cape League season is its adjusted playoff format.
The eight-team playoff will run from Aug. 6-12, with the opening round beginning as a single-elimination game.
Opening round schedule, Aug. 6
East:
No. 4 Orleans Firebirds (15-25) at No. 1 Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (24-12-4), 4 p.m.
No. 3 Harwich Mariners (16-24) at No. 2 Chatham Anglers (20-20), 7 p.m.
West:
No. 4 Bourne Braves (21-16-3) at No. 1 Hyannis Harbor Hawks (24-14-2), 6 p.m.
No. 3 Wareham Gatemen (22-17-1) at No. 2 Cotuit Kettleers (22-17-1), 4 p.m.
The second round and Cape League Championship Series will be best-of-three, starting Aug. 7 and 10, respectively. Each series will start at the higher seed, with Game 2 at the lower seed. The if-necessary Game 3 will take place at the higher seed.
