In partnership with the Hyannis Arts Hall, the Harbor Hawks will host a silent reading of Richard Dresser's Rounding Third, a beloved baseball comedy-drama. The event serves as a fundraiser benefiting both nonprofits and aims to bring the Hyannis community together through a shared love of baseball and the arts.
Rounding Third is an early-2000s baseball play that features a season-long clash between two Little League coaches with opposing views on competition, leadership, and player development. The play will be presented as a reading with music and sound effects on Saturday, June 27, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, June 28, at 2 p.m. A post-performance Q&A featuring Harbor Hawks staff will follow Sunday's show.
Harbor Hawks President Jim Hurley called the fundraiser a “win-win” for both organizations, as it provides exposure for their respective nonprofits.
"The Hyannis Harbor Hawks are elated to partner with Hyannis Arts Hall for this fundraiser, as it is a win-win for both organizations," Hurley said. "This allows us the chance to expand our fan base while supporting community endeavors at the same time. We value opportunities to partner with local organizations, especially when we can host an event that benefits everyone involved."
Whether you're a baseball fan, theater enthusiast, or simply looking to support the local community, Rounding Third offers a unique opportunity to experience the blend of sports and the arts.
