The Cotuit Kettleers had solid representation in the MLB’s inaugural four-day Spring Breakout that started on Thursday. The Cape’s leading team in MiLB players with 153 according to the Cape Cod’s official website had seven of the top MLB prospects in the four-day event.
In order to participate in these games, players had to be selected as one of the projected top 25 prospects in each teams’ system for the year.

- Enrique Bradfield Jr. – Orioles No. 6 Prospect
- Dylan Beavers – Orioles No. 8 Prospect
- John Rhodes – Orioles No. 24 Prospect
- Cam Collier – Reds No. 7 Prospect
- Victor Scott II – Cardinals No. 4 Prospect
- Chandler Simpson – Rays No. 12 Prospect
- Chris Troye – Red Sox NR
On Thursday, Bradfield, Beavers, Rhodes, and Collier all played. Bradfield had a base knock while Beavers reached on a walk. Meanwhile Rhodes was a solid defensive contributor in the outfield.
In the other game, Collier stole the show with his tape measure two-run home run in the second inning that propelled the Reds to a 4-1 win. As for Scott II, the center fielder was solid at the plate, drawing a walk and a sac-fly that would lead to a run for the Red Birds.
Troye was not able to get any action in the Red Sox only game of the four days but looks to develop his game before the season starts. The same can be said for Chandler Simpson who did not get on base in his only game of the weekend on Saturday.
All seven former Kettleers involved will look to make an impact with their clubs going forward through the rest of Spring Training.
