Manuell Robello Scholarship

Scholarship Information

Established and first awarded in 1987, Manuel Robello Scholarships are awarded by the Cotuit Athletic Association in memory of Manuel Robello, a member of the first Cotuit Kettleers baseball team in 1947 and long-time supporter/volunteer of the Cotuit Athletic Association until his death on March 19, 1986. Scholarships are awarded to local college-bound high school seniors.

A maximum of four $750 scholarships are offered each year as funds allow to High School seniors residing in the Towns of Barnstable, Mashpee or Sandwich.

The Cotuit Athletic Association Scholarship Committee reviews all applications received from high school seniors during the months of January and February. The committee makes its selections in March based on information provided in the PDF application, available soon. Preference is given to applicants who have some connection to the Cotuit Athletic Association/Cotuit Kettleers organization and/or Town athletic programs. The amount of $750 is paid by check directly to each recipient upon completion in good standing of the fall freshman college semester/trimester.

Traditionally, each year’s scholarship recipients are invited to throw the first “pitches” on Opening Day at Lowell Park in June.
