Kettleers Housing

There is one component of the Cape Cod Baseball League that is absolutely essential for the successful operation of each team. Without housing for the players, there would be no baseball on Cape Cod. The volunteer families who step up to house players for the summer are crucial. Housing is indeed the backbone of the Cape Cod Baseball League.

If you love to watch baseball, have kids who play baseball or are a die-hard Kettleers fan, you can join the Kettleers family and host a player for the 2025 season. We are looking for dedicated families to share their homes with a Kettleers player during the upcoming season. Players stay with families from early June through the middle of August.

If you live in the vicinity of Cotuit, Mashpee, Osterville, Sandwich, Marstons Mills, West Barnstable, Centerville or any place where the player can easily get to Lowell Park, and would like to have a Kettleers player stay in your home for the baseball season or you want to learn more about this incredible experience, please contact Kettleers Housing Director Shelley Tomyl.

Living with a Host Family

The Kettleers housing department wants to do their best to ensure that you have the greatest experience possible while playing the game you love.

Before you know it you will be playing games and getting involved in all of your host family's routines and traditions.

Your host family will provide you with food for three meals a day, a bedroom, access to laundry facilities and the most supportive fans on and off the field. The details in what is offered is based on each family, and the Kettleers work tirelessly to place you with a family that matches best with your needs.

Even 2015 Cotuit Kettleers and current Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Kevin Ginkel got to enjoy quality time with his host family taking trips to Boston, Plymouth and all around Cape Cod (see right).

So enjoy your time on Cape Cod, get to know your host family and most of all have fun playing the game you enjoy so much with your biggest fans cheering you on.

Living with a Player

If there is one thing players can do it's eat. It is important to remember that these young men are college athletes who are burning more calories in a single practice than we burn in a whole week. You will need to make sure your player is well fed so he can play to his best ability.

Dinner is one of the best times to bond with your player. Your player is always hungry so sitting down over a meal is a great time to and learn more about them especially when they first come to your home.

It is important to spend time with your player off the field as well. Spend some time showing him all that there is to enjoy on Cape Cod, whether it's fishing trips on your boat, time in your pool, lounging at the beach or even enjoying a short day trip. Even though your player has limited free days, it's important to include him in all that your family does to have fun during the summer.

Trips out are a ton of fun; however, your player can also enjoy his time at home becoming part of your family. So include him in all of your summer traditions and routines. It is also important to allow your player to have some down time so that he can take those moments to stay in touch with family and friends at home.

Hosting a player will allow you to not only have an extra family member for the summer but also establish a relationship that lasts a lifetime.
