The Mariners are 19 games into the season and are second place in the East Division with an 13-6 record. This past week the Mariners went 5-1, losing against Brewster. The Mariners picked up big wins at Orleans and Brewster and when hosting Falmouth, Wareham, and Chatham.
The Mariners offense was the 8th lowest scoring offense in the league. Despite being a bottom offense Harwich walked out of the week with an almost perfect record. The pitching staff finished the week with the 4th lowest ERA.
This week, our trio is composed of pitcher Bryan Matuschat, infielder Nate Castellon, and Utility JP Peltier.
Bryan Matuschat | Florida Atlantic commit | RHP
Bryan Matuschat came into the game Tuesday night against the Falmouth Commodores. Prior to Tuesday, Matuschat gave up four runs through 7 ⅔ innings. Matuschat went 4 ⅓ innings during the middle innings of the Falmouth game and pitched a perfect four frames. Matuschat completely dismantled the offense with his off speed filling up the zone. Matuschat finished his outing only allowing a single hit and walk, while striking out three Commodores.

Nate Castellon | Cal Poly | Shortstop
Nate Castellon might have needed a second to get used to the weather in the Cape, but he clearly came ready to play. Through eight games with the team Castellon is batting .357 with 5 RBI. It's not just the bat working, the Cal Poly shortstop has been the conductor of multiple double plays in the middle infield. It's the first time Nate has been able to wear a sweatshirt in the summer growing up in Southern California but his stats don't like they'll cool off anytime soon.
JP Peltier | Kentucky commit | Infielder
JP Peltier has been with the team all summer and deserved a spot on the trio every week but this week it was obvious he was a lock for the spot. Last week Peltier led the entire league with a staggering 1.347 OPS. In his ten at-bats this week, Peltier has five RBI and a home run.
Peltier's home run came against Falmouth on Tuesday where he sent one 390 feet to left field for a three-run home run in the bottom of the second inning.
