The Cape Cod Baseball League is into the full playoff-push swing, as every team has less than 10 games remaining in the regular season. However, it’s entirely possible that this year’s playoffs will be decided by players who may not have begun the season with their team. For various reasons, it’s become increasingly rare for players to complete an entire CCBL with their team. With just over a week to play before the playoffs, let’s evaluate every team’s key losses and players who have joined the team as their replacements.

Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox:

Keys Players Out:

Cody Miller: Had been a regular in Y-D’s starting lineup, playing in 20 games for the team prior to his departure for the MLB draft. Filling in across the infield, Miller posted an OPS of .782 with three home runs in that span. As one of the team’s most consistent players, Miller heard his name called by the Atlanta Braves in the third round of this year’s MLB draft, and we wish him luck at the next level!

AJ Soldra: Was off to a rampant start to the summer For Y-D, prior to leaving for the MLB draft. At the time of his departure, Soldra was leading the team in OPS, producing a mark of .921. He also hit four home runs in 18 games, which remains the most by a Y-D hitter this summer. Soldra considerably boosted his draft stock this summer and was a 16th round pick by the Dodgers earlier in the month.

Hunter Watkins: Was the opening day starting pitcher and a true ace of Y-D rotation prior to his departure. The 6’9” Oklahoma State product made four starts for the team, producing an ERA of 1.96 across 18.1 innings of work. Watkins only allowed four walks in that span, while holding opposing hitters to a .179 batting average and his presence has certainly been missed.

New Players In:

Jack Arcamone: Has been the power hitting catcher that Y-D needed as it heads into the playoff push. Arcamone was activated by the team just this week and has already shown off what he can do with two home runs and an OPS of 1.143 through his first four games on the Cape. Arcamone is certainly a key player to watch and his performances will impact how deep into August Y-D can go this summer.

Ryder Brooks: Has been a pivotal left-handed relief pitcher out of the bullpen for Scott Pickler’s team since arriving during the first week of July. Ricky Ojeda- another player who left YD- had been the team’s most consistent lefty out of the bullpen. Brooks has taken on those responsibilities so far, tossing 5.2 innings and only allowing one run in five appearances this summer.

Armando Briseno: Has filled in nicely along the infield following Cody Miller’s departure. Wearing only one batting glove in the box, Briseno has hit .300 through his first 30 at-bats with Y-D since joining the team mid-way through July. The Cal State Fullerton product has also shown off what he can do with the glove, having made diving plays both at third base and shortstop through his first eight games on the Cape.

Brewster Whitecaps:

Keys Players Out:

Josiah Ragdsale: Had been leading the CCBL in batting average at .373 prior to leaving Brewster.

Blake Cyr: Was producing an OPS of .844 with a home run in 11 games, while playing solid defense in the outfield, before leaving the team.

Jacob Dudan: Was the opening day starter for the Whitecaps, who posted an ERA of 1.64 with Brewster ahead of his departure.

New Players In:

Brendan Lawson: Has been one of the hottest hitters on the Cape since joining the team in the second week of July. Through his first 14 games with Brewster, Lawson has hit .348 and posted an OPS of 1.103, already eclipsing the team-high in home runs at four. Brewster will need Lawson to continue playing at this level if they want to make a deep playoff run.

Brody DeLamielleure: Was activated by Brewster this week and has made an immediate impact on the team. Through his first two games on the Cape, DeLamielleure hit his first home run of the summer and gone 2/7 at the plate. The Florida State product showed promise during his freshman year at school, but is starting to flourish with the wood bats on the Cape.

Mitch Dye: Will be a key bullpen arm for the Brewster Whitecaps the rest of the summer after arriving to the Cape this week. Dye made his season debut last week, tossing 1.1 innings in relief, striking out two, and only allowing one base runner. An Illinois product, Dye will likely be called upon out of relief many times by Jamie Shevchik as the calendar nearly turns to August.

Harwich Mariners:

Keys Players Out:

Jake McCoy: Made three starts for Harwich and struck out 25 batters in 12.1 innings of work before leaving the Cape. He was leading the CCBL in strikeouts before his departure.

Freddy Rodriguez: Was a key member of the Mariners’ rotation, making four starts, and producing an ERA of 3.71 in 17.0 innings of work on the summer.

Tyler Bell: Only played five games for the Mariners, but made his presence felt, producing an OPS of .883 with three extra base hits during that span.

New Players In:

Aiden Robbins: Joined the team at the start of month and played his way into an All-Star nomination this summer. Robbins has absolutely done it all for the surging Mariners, having produced an OPS of .955 with five home runs through his first 19 games of the summer. Robbins plays every game for Harwich and will be a key component of their playoff roster.

Tanner Marsh: Also joined Harwich at the start of July and has been a key contributor. Marsh is top five in the CCBL among qualifiers in batting average, currently hitting .329 through 19 games. He has also shown defensive versatility, making key plays at both shortstop and second base. Harwich will be depending on Marsh to continue playing well as the playoff push rolls on.

Tom Chmielewski: Began his tenure with Harwich as a reliever and has since moved to the starting rotation after other players departed. Through five appearances, including two starts, Chmielewski has produced an ERA of 2.04 across 17.2 innings of work. The Mariners have had arguably the best pitching staff in the CCBL, and will be relying on Chmielewski to continue pitching well going forward.

Orleans Firebirds:

Keys Players Out:

Sebastian Piscareta: Was the team’s opening day catcher and was posting an OPS of .914 prior to leaving after seven games.

Michael O’Shaugnessy: Played 21 games for the Firebirds, primarily as the team’s starting first baseman, before leaving last week.

Itsuki Takemoto: Was the CCBL Pitcher of the Year for Orleans in 2024 and returned this summer, making five more starts, prior to his departure.

New Players In:

JT Rabb: Joined the Firebirds’ rotation in mid-July and has been excellent since his arrival to the Cape. Rabb has been tasked with replacing pitchers such as Takemoto in the Orleans’ rotation. Through three starts this summer, the Georgetown product has produced an ERA of 1.54 across 11.2 innings, while currently holding opponents to a .214 batting average.

Tyler Myatt: Joined the team on Wednesday and hit a home run in his first game as a Firebird. The Walters State JUCO product has a lot of defensive versatility and will likely be a utilityman for Orleans, helping replace players who have left. Orleans has been climbing up the standings over the past two weeks and players like Myatt could determine if they will clinch a spot in the playoffs this summer.

Colby Guy: Figures to be a key member of Kelly Nicholson’s bullpen after arriving to the Cape at the end of last week. Guy is yet to allow a run through his first two appearances, currently holding opposing hitters to a .222 batting average. Last season as a senior at UNC Asheville, Guy appeared in five games, all starts, so it will be interesting to see if the Firebirds opt to use him as a starter later in the summer.

Chatham Anglers:

Keys Players Out:

JT Quinn: Made three starts for Chatham, including on opening day, prior to his departure. He was taken 69th overall by the Orioles during draft weekend, making Quinn the highest draft pick of any player who played in the Cape this summer.

Luke Jackson: Was excellent across three starts for the Anglers, producing an ERA of 2.45 over 11.0 innings of work.

Henry Ford: Was tied for the CCBL lead in hits with 20 before leaving the Cape after 19 games with the team.

New Players In:

Will Girardi: Recently arrived to the Anglers after a College World Series run this season with Coastal Carolina. Girardi will be a key addition to the Anglers’ pitching staff after several pitchers departed for the summer. In his season debut for Chatham, Girardi tossed two shutout innings, only allowed one hit, and earned the win for the Anglers.

Caleb Freeman: Is another new pitcher who will play a key role in the bullpen for Dennis Cook’s squad. The Jacksonville product arrived at the Cape this week and did not allow a run across 1.2 innings in his season debut. Freeman also began his college career as a two-way player, registering 80 plate appearances over his four years of college, so he may get some at-bats for Chatham.

Cade Arrambide: Has been a key player behind the dish for the Anglers since arriving to the Cape during the first week of July. The Anglers have three catchers on roster, also including Chase Fralick and Daniel Jackson. Arrambide also provides defensive versatility in the outfield, making him a regular in the Angler’s starting lineup and the team will be relying on him to play well the rest of the summer.

Wareham Gatemen:

Keys Players Out:

Ty Dalley: Was leading the CCBL with 15 hits prior to leaving the Wareham Gatemen after 13 games.

Shamarr McDuffie: Had been the team’s regular leadoff hitter to start the summer, but left the Cape after five games.

Chase Richter: Made three starts for the Gatemen and produced an ERA of 2.25 across 12.0 innings of work before leaving in early July.

New Players In:

Christopher Ramirez: Has been arguably the hottest hitter in the entire CCBL since joining the team mid-way through July. Through his first nine games with Wareham, Ramirez has .500 through 26 at bats. Yes, you read that correctly, Ramirez is still hitting .500 after nine games! Not to mention, he’s replaced McDuffie at shortstop and provides great range in the field.

Aris Rivera: Arrived to the team on Thursday and could be the team’s starting catcher going forward. Hunter Carns had been the team’s regular backstop, but he left the Cape after all-star weekend. That move left the team with only two catchers: Rivera and Drew Rogers. Rivera was fantastic in his team debut on Thursday, going 3/3 with three runs driven in. The Central Florida product will be hoping for more of the same as the Gatemen continue to surge in the second half of the summer.

Bryce Turner: Has tossed 3.0 innings of scoreless baseball in two relief appearances since arriving to Wareham. The 6’7” flamethrower will be a key member of Ryan Smyth’s bullpen through the final few weeks of the summer into the playoffs. Last season as a freshman at Florida International, Turner appeared in 18 games out of the bullpen, producing an ERA of 3.47.

Bourne Braves:

Keys Players Out:

Jonathan Stevens: Was one of the best relief pitchers in the CCBL, producing an ERA 0.60 over 15.0 innings of work and earning an All-Star bid, while with Bourne.

Weber Neels: Was hitting over .300 while playing great defensively as a catcher across 10 games, before leaving the Cape.

Logan Hughes: Left the team after playing in the 2025 All-Star game. In 24 games for Bourne, Hughes produced an OPS of .759 and remains tied for team-lead in home runs with two.

New Players In:

Drew Wyers: Had a two home run game in Bourne’s tie against Y-D last week. The infielder, who played at Bryant last season, will likely be a regular starter for Bourne after joining the team just before All-Star weekend. Through five games this summer, Wyers is currently producing an OPS of 1.166, while providing defensive versatility at third base, shortstop, and second base.

Kuhio Aloy: Joined the team at the start of July and has been a stalwart for the Braves since. Aloy displayed his power at the 2025 Home Run Derby, winning the competition and sending balls deep into the trees at Red Wilson Field. Through 16 games, Aloy has posted an OPS of .963. The Arkansas product also has a keen ability to walk, en route to his ridiculous .463 OBP that he currently holds on the summer.

Mark Quatrani: Will likely get the majority share of starts behind the dish for Bourne the rest of the summer after Weber Neels’ departure. Quatrani began the 2025 summer with Falmouth before signing on to join the Braves. The move has paid dividends for the Cornell backstop, who is currently producing an OPS of .850 through his first six games with the team.

Falmouth Commodores:

Keys Players Out:

Trevor Baumler: Made five appearances, including three starts, producing an ERA of 0.92 in 19.2 innings of work before leaving Falmouth.

Kaden Echeman: Was the team’s opening day starter and recorded an ERA of 2.25 over 16.0 innings across four starts this summer.

Grayson Saunier: Was another key component of Jarrod Saltalamacchia’s staff, making four appearances, including three starts for Falmouth, logging an ERA of 3.00 over 15.0 innings of work.

New Players In:

Ryan Zuckerman: Arrived to the cape during the second week of July and has been an integral part of the Commodores’ lineup since. Playing across the infield, Zuckerman is posting an OPS of 1.081 across 11 games, to go along with two home runs and seven runs batted in. Last season as a Sophomore at Pittsburgh, Zuckerman launched 13 home runs and had 48 RBIs in 55 games.

Edward Yamin IV: Arrived to the team after the all-star break and will see a lot of playing time at catcher alongside Bear Harrison. Yamin IV has shown flashes of what he can bring to the table already. Through his first two games, Yamin IV has gone 2/4 while flashing the cannon behind the dish. After spending his first three collegiate seasons at Dayton, Yamin IV will be transferring to the World Series Champion LSU Tigers next season.

Everett Garber: Has been incredible in long-relief in his two outings for Falmouth this summer. While he is yet to start a game, Garber has gone four innings in each of his two outings and has not allowed a run. It’s entirely possible Garber may be moved to the starting rotation during the final stretch of the season. Garber started in all seven games he pitched in as a Sophomore at Bucknell last season.

Hyannis Harbor Hawks:

Keys Players Out:

Chris Rembert: Only played five games for Hyannis this summer and shined, hitting three home runs and posting an OPS of 1.430 during his short tenure on the Cape.

Jaxon Willits: Was atop the leaderboard in batting average, hitting .366 over 13 games before leaving for the summer.

Evan Blanco: Was the team’s opening day starter and started three games, producing an ERA of 1.50 across 12.0 innings of work before leaving Hyannis.

New Players In:

Jayce Dobie: Arrived to the Cape just before the start of the all-star and has done a solid job filling in at first base. Through his first five games with Hyannis, Dobie is hitting .294, while posting an elite OBP of .400. Dobie is no stranger to summer baseball as he was a pivotal member of the Macon Bacon of the Coastal Plain League in 2024. Last season at Nevada, Dobie hit .339 across 220 plate appearances.

Jeff Lougee: Arrived to the team at the start of July and still played well enough to earn himself an All-Star nomination. After Rembert and Willits left, Lougee has been tasked with filling in both at second base and shortstop. Through 16 games, he’s currently posting an OPS of .862 with 13 runs batted in. Lougee only appeared in eight games as a freshman at Duke so this will be a great experience for him to get regular playing time in the CCBL.

Chris Diaz: Will be a key member of Mitch Karraker’s bullpen for the rest of the summer after joining the team last week. So far, Diaz has made two appearances, and is yet to allow a run in four innings, while striking out six in that span. Last season as a sophomore at FGCU, Diaz started in 12 of his 13 appearances, so it will be interesting to see if Hyannis will use him as a starter later in the summer.

Cotuit Kettleers:

Keys Players Out:

Jarren Advincula: Was leading the CCBL in batting average at .360 at the All-Star break, but left the team after that game.

Andrew Wiggins: Started in 19 games in the outfield for Cotuit, producing an OPS of .779 prior to his departure.

Kenton Deverman: Made four starts for the Kettleers and produced an ERA of 3.07 across 14.2 innings before leaving for the summer.

New Players In:

Zan Von Schlegell: Arrived to the Cape last week and has made an immediate impact for Cotuit. Filling in at third base, Von Schlegell has gotten off to a hot start, currently producing an OPS of 1.055 through four games. Last season as a junior at St.Thomas, Von Schlegell played in 36 games and produced an OPS of .840.

Rob Evans: Has shined through his first two starts with the Kettleers. Immediately joining the team’s starting rotation, Evans has posted an ERA of 2.08 across 8.2 innings of work so far. The southpaw does a great job at limiting walks and figures to be a key member of the team’s rotation throughout the rest of the summer. Last season at Miami, Evans pitched exclusively as a reliever, making 17 appearances for the Hurricanes.

Nick Greaney: Joined Cotuit just before the All-Star break and projects to be a pivotal member of the Kettleer’s bullpen for the rest of the summer. Greaney has made two appearances in relief so far, and has yet to allow an earned run in three innings of work. Greaney only made three appearances at Florida State last season, so it will be important for him to get innings under his belt on the Cape.
