A standout outfielder for Liberty’s baseball team, Kane Kepley led his team in multiple categories this season, showcasing his exceptional skills in the field and the batter’s box.

The sophomore concluded this season at the top of his squad in six offensive categories and was tied for first in two others. Among his notable achievements, he led the team in batting average, runs scored, hits, total bases, stolen bases, and walks. Additionally, he shares the top spot for games started and games played.

Kepley amassed an impressive 21 multi-hit games, setting the pace for the Flames. His dynamic performance has been instrumental in guiding the Flames to success.

“The bat-to-ball skills are incredible… he is a quintessential, above-average centerfielder and will make an immediate impact,” Harbor Hawks Head of Baseball Operations Cole Velis said.

With a sharp eye for the game and a relentless work ethic, Kepley is primed to elevate the Harbor Hawks this season.

Anthony Silva, Middle Infielder, Texas Christian University

Joining Kepley is teammate Anthony Silva, a standout middle infielder from Texas Christian University. With a career batting average of .302, Silva's offensive prowess and defensive expertise have earned him recognition both on and off the field.

"Baseball is something that has always been taught to me because my dad and uncle played," Silva said.

Despite engaging in various sports throughout his youth, Silva's unwavering love for baseball propelled him to pursue opportunities such as this one. Now, as a key player for TCU, he embraces the chance to excel on the field and make a meaningful impact.

Looking ahead to his upcoming endeavors, Silva expressed his aspirations to enhance the offensive aspect of his game during his time on the Cape.

"[I want to work on] having more consistent at-bats, getting on base more, and stealing more bases," Silva said.

As Silva continues to make strides in his baseball career, his commitment to excellence both on and off the field was a testament to his determination and passion for the game.

“Culturally, [Silva] is an unbelievably important player for us, when we got the call it was a no-brainer,” Velis said. “He might be the most reliable and athletic defensive shortstop in college baseball.”

Joseph Dzierwa, Pitcher, Michigan State/Transfer Portal

Joseph Dzierwa is set to represent the Hyannis Harbor Hawks in game one against the Falmouth Commodores. He is a formidable presence on the mound garnering attention for his impressive achievements during his time as a Michigan State Spartan, solidifying his status as a standout pitcher. Before entering the portal, Dzierwa played two seasons for the Spartans.

Dzierwa amassed an impressive 91 strikeouts this season, ranking second in the Big Ten conference. His exceptional performance also earned him the eighth spot on Michigan State's single-season top 10 strikeouts record book, marking the highest tally by a pitcher since 2016.

His dedication to excellence extended beyond athletics, as he was also named a recipient of Academic All-District honors, highlighting his commitment to both athletic and academic pursuits.

“Dzierwa is a stud. He has a strong frame with big-league projectability” Velis said.
