The Bourne Braves hope to extend their winning streak to four games on Thursday, taking on the Orleans Firebird on the road. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. ET. The Braves are coming off a 9-2 victory over Chatham, while the Firebirds look to end a three-game losing streak.

Probables

Bourne - RHP Brandon Shannon (Louisville): 9.1 IP, 8.63 ERA

Orleans - LHP Casey Euper (Pepperdine): 16.2 IP, 1.62 ERA

Last Time Out - Bourne

Bourne pulled away late in Tuesday’s matchup against Chatham to secure a 9-2 win. The Anglers were the first to score in the second inning on a botched pick-off attempt. From there, the Bravos controlled the game. Bourne scored three runs in the sixth to take a 3-1 lead and added six insurance runs in the eighth, highlighted by a bases-clearing 3-RBI triple from Garrett Michel (South Carolina).

Last Time Out - Orleans

There wasn’t much action on offense between the Harbor Hawks and Firebirds Wednesday, but Hyannis did just enough to come out on top. The game was scoreless until the seventh inning, when the Harbor Hawks picked up an RBI single to give them a 1-0 lead. That was to only run of the game, as Orleans was only able to muster two hits and three walks in the contest.

Previous Matchup

These two teams have faced off twice this season, with the Braves getting the best of the Firebirds in both matchups. Bourne’s first win came in 8-2 fashion at Eldredge Park and the second win was a 3-1 victory at home.

Player to Watch - Bourne

Josiah Overbeek (Army) hasn’t played a game yet for the Bravos this season, but he may be one of the biggest names on the Cape to watch for. Overbeek was a two-way star for Army last season, hitting 17 home runs with an OPS of 1.226 while also making 15 appearances on the mound. Overbeek joined the Braves yesterday and is likely to get his first start in the coming days.

Player to Watch - Orleans

The last-place Firebirds have cycled through a lot of players this season, but Dominic Cadiz (UCLA) has been a staple of their lineup. Cadiz is hitting .321 this season, the fourth-best mark in the CCBL this season, and leads the CCBL in hits (25). He’s also drove in 13 runs this season, the fifth-most in the CCBL this season.
