Following a two-game homestand that saw them walk-off twice, the Bourne Braves are back on the road to take on the Harwich Mariners at Whitehouse Field. First pitch is set for 5:30 p.m. ET. The Bravos enter the matchup with three straight games without a loss, while the Mariners are coming off their fourth loss of the season.

Probables

Bourne: LHP Madden Clement (Transfer Portal): 5.1 IP, 5.06 ERA

Harwich: LHP Jakob Schulz (Vanderbilt): 6.0 IP, 1.50 ERA

Last Time Out - Bourne

After seven innings in Friday night’s game against Brewster, things were not going the Braves’ way. A trio of errors haunted their defense, and Bourne found themselves down 4-1 to the Whitecaps. The end of the game, however, was a different story. The Braves added two runs in the eighth to bring themselves within striking distance. When Brewster scored a run in the top of the ninth to make it 5-3, the Braves struck again. A 2-RBI single from Luke Costello (Transfer Portal) tied the game, and John Stuetzer (Florida State) walked the game off with a sacrifice fly to center field.

Last Time Out - Harwich

A big fifth inning proved costly for the Mariners in their loss to Chatham. Harwich scored the first runs of the game in the top of the frame, thanks to a three-run home run from Jackson Hotchkiss (Washington). The Anglers had an answer in the bottom of the inning. Chatham erupted for a five-run rally to give themselves a two-run lead. The Anglers would add another run late, and took care of Harwich 6-3.

Previous Matchups

The Braves and Mariners matched up for the first time in the second game of the season. Harwich got out to an early lead in that game, and withstood a late Bourne rally to secure a 6-3 victory.

Player to Watch - Bourne

Matt Bolton (Binghamton) had his third multi-hit game of the season in Friday night’s win over Brewster. The Braves’ left fielder had an RBI fielder’s choice in the eighth as part of Bourne’s comeback, and a single in the ninth. Bolton would score the game’s winning run, tagging up from third on John Stuetzer’s sacrifice fly. After his two hit performance, Bolton is hitting .333 on the season with a .444 OBP.

Player to Watch - Harwich

Colin Larson (Boston College) has had a terrific first quarter of the year for the Mariners. In nine appearances this summer, Larson is hitting .400 with an OPS of 1.117. Along with his ability to get on base, Larson is a threat on the base paths. He has eight stolen bags on the year, trailing only his teammate JP Peltier (Wright State) for the most in the CCBL this season.
