Brewster: LHP Charlie West (UConn): 7.0 IP, 2.57 ERA
Last Time Out - Bourne
Entering the matchup without a win in four straight games, the Braves rallied late to walk-off the Kettleers. Down 3-2 in the seventh inning, C Brice Estep (South Carolina) launched his first hit of the season over the left field fence to tie the ballgame. The game would go on to extra innings, with Cotuit first to bat. With runners on the corners and one out, RHP Adam Buczkowski (Cincinnati) worked back-to-back strikeouts to escape the frame clean. Bourne went up to bat next, and 2B Blake Schaaf played the hero. Down to the Braves’ last strike, Schaaf sent a ball off the end of his bat into shallow left field, scoring the runner from third for a Bravos’ win.
Last Time Out - Brewster
The Whitecaps’ bullpen struggled to keep the game close in their loss to Y-D on Wednesday. Jacob Lee (VCU) gave Brewster a temporary 1-0 lead in the fourth with a solo home run. From there, Y-D took over the game. The Red Sox scored four runs in both the fifth and seventh innings, helping them secure an 8-1 victory.
Previous Matchups
Brewster got the best of Bourne in their first matchup of the season last Sunday. The Whitecaps built up a four-run lead and withstood a late push from the Braves to clinch a 4-3 win.
Players to Watch - Bourne
Andrew Costello (South Carolina) and Luke Costello (Transfer Portal) have been turning heads this season for the Braves.
