After securing their second tie of the year in comeback fashion last night, the Bourne Braves travel to Red Wilson Field for an afternoon matchup against the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m. ET. The Bravos are coming off a 3-3 tie with Falmouth, while the Red Sox look to recover from their first loss of the year to Cotuit.

Probables

Bourne: LHP Rhys Bowie (Wake Forest): 4.0 IP, 2.25 ERA

Yarmouth-Dennis: RHP Connor Hamilton (Vanderbilt): 5.2 IP, 3.18 ERA

Last Time Out - Bourne

After falling into a 3-0 deficit early, the Braves battled back to give themselves a chance to win against Falmouth. LF John Stuetzer (Florida State) and DH Andrew Costello (Wake Forest) powered the Bravos’ offense to score runs in the fifth and seventh innings. However, it was the elder Costello brother, 3B Luke Costello (Wake Forest), who came in clutch with a two-out RBi single in the bottom of the ninth to force extras. The Braves bullpen was a big help in the comeback effort, throwing 6.2 shutout innings to keep the Commodores off the board.

Last Time Out - Y-D

The Red Sox suffered their first loss of the season to Cotuit on Friday. With the game knotted at one heading into the eighth, the Kettleers and Red Sox traded late game blows. Cotuit took a 2-1 lead with a run in the top of the eighth, but Y-D answered with two runs in the bottom of the frame to take the lead. In the top of the ninth, the Kettleers’ Seojun Oh (High Point) delivered a 2-RBI single that gave them a 4-3 lead. The Red Sox got runners on second and third in the bottom of the ninth, but lined into a double play to lose the game.

Player to Watch - Bourne

Trent Caraway (LSU) has been quietly putting together a great start to the season in Bourne. The Braves third baseman has been an on-base machine with an OBP of .650, the highest among qualified players in the Cape this summer. Caraway also has four RBI, the second most by a Brave this season.

Player to Watch - Y-D

Connor Hamilton is set to make his third start of the summer tonight, which will be the most by a player in the Cape this summer. The righty from Vanderbilt has thrown 5.2 innings in those starts with an ERA of 3.18.
