The Braves return home from an 8-2 victory over Orleans on Thursday night, while the Commodores are looking to recover from a 13-0 loss to Harwich.

Probables

Bourne: LHP Madden Clement (Virginia Tech / Portal): 2.0 IP, 0.00 ERA

Hyannis: RHP Kenyon Collins (Marshall)

Last Time Out - Bourne

After a slow start for the bats against Orleans’ starting pitcher, the Braves produced in the later innings to secure an 8-2 victory. Andrew Costello’s (Wake Forest) fourth inning solo home run was the only score for either team until the seventh inning, when the Bravos added a pair of insurance runs. After the Firebirds made it a one-run game in the bottom of the seventh, Bourne exploded for five runs in the eighth to put the game away. Braves’ starter Jaden Alba (Arizona State) had the longest start by a Bravo this season, registering five scoreless innings and earning the win.

Last Time Out - Falmouth

The Commodores are likely to want to forget Thursday’s game against Harwich. The Mariners were dominant throughout the game, scoring in five separate innings to put 13 runs on the scoreboard. Falmouth had only three hits in the contest and were shutout for the first time this summer.

Player to Watch - Bourne

Madden Clement is making his first start of the season tonight against the Commodores. The southpaw made his Braves debut in the season opener against Chatham, throwing 2.0 shutout innings with four strikeouts to earn the win. This past spring for Virginia Tech, Clement made eight appearances and five starts with a 3.95 ERA in 13.2 innings.

Player to Watch - Falmouth

John Martinez (FAU) has been an exciting prospect for Commodores fans to watch this summer. In his first two games on the Cape, the Commodores’ third baseman had five hits in his nine at-bats with three RBI and a 1.156 OPS. This past spring, Martinez hit .297 with five home runs in 55 games.
