Last Time Out - Bourne
The Bourne Braves picked up right where they left off in their 2025 championship run, producing a 5-1 victory to open the summer. The Bravos’ offense shot right out of the gate, producing a run in each of the first five innings to give them an early lead. Mark Quatrani (Notre Dame) had the first home run of the year at Doran Park, and Cal Sefcik (Cincinnati) and Rustan Rigdon (Vanderbilt) stole home in the fourth and fifth innings respectively to extend the Braves’ lead. On the mound, starting LHP Rhys Bowie (Wake Forest) produced four innings of one hit, one run ball, and the Bourne bullpen allowed just one hit for the rest of the game.
Last Time Out - Harwich
The Harwich Mariners were unable to complete a ninth-inning rally and fell 8-5 in their season opener. The Mariners picked up an early 2-0 lead with runs in each of the first two innings. After Y-D got one run back in the second on a wild pitch, the Red Sox took their first lead on a grand slam from K.J. Scobey (South Carolina). Y-D would add three more runs, making it an 8-2 game going into the ninth. Harwich would add three runs in the final frame in a comeback attempt, but were unable to complete it.
Player to Watch - Bourne
Mark Quatrani hit the Braves’ first home run of the 2026 season in the third inning of Saturday’s contest. The Fighting Irish catcher powered a two-strike pitch over the left field fence to extend the Braves lead to 3-0. Quatrani had 15 home runs this past spring, so keep an eye out for him to continue to show off his power.
Player to Watch - Harwich
Tyler Smolinski (Kansas State) had a pair of hits in the Mariners’ season opening loss to Y-D on Saturday. Smolinski began the game with a first inning single to right field, advancing all the way to third on an error. In the ninth, he collected his second hit; a two-run home run to right center field to cut into the Red Sox lead. Though Harwich couldn’t complete the comeback, Smolinski’s stellar day made him a guy to watch for the Mariners this season.
