COTUIT, Mass. — The Robert A. McNeese Outstanding Pro Prospect Award is given to the Cape League player who has “shown the highest-rated tools and intangibles throughout the season and has been recommended by the professional scouts who cover the Cape League all season.”

This year, the honor went to Jarren Advincula (Georgia Tech).

“This means a ton to me,” Advincula said via a phone interview. “I’m very fortunate that the way I play shows day in and day out for myself and other people.”

Advincula’s time in The Village was cut short this season due to school reasons, but the former Golden Bear had a large impact on the team.

“He was our best player at the time. I think the world of him,” Cotuit manager Loren Hibbs said of his short time coaching Advincula. “It makes us all feel good as coaches that kids get rewarded for hard work and toughness and all the things we talk about everyday.”

The 2025 season was the infielder’s second summer in Cotuit. In 2024, he won the Cape League Batting Title with a .392 average in 38 games played.

This year, the sample size was a little smaller, but the numbers were just as mighty. Advincula batted .360 in 18 games this summer, driving in six runs and swiping 11 bases.

After two summers of donning the Script C, Advincula has nothing but love and gratitude for the organization and town that took him in.

“Being a Kett showed me how special it is to be a part of Cotuit,” he said. “The daily baseball grind, creating forever-lasting relationships and the people in Cotuit that make it so fun to come to the field every day make it a one-of-a-kind experience.”

Advincula will be spending his junior, and presumably last college, season at Georgia Tech. He will join a team that made the Regionals in the spring, and is hoping to get them back to the College World Series.

“I’m trying to be a spark plug,” he said of why he chose to join the Yellow Jackets. “I just hope to bring a lot of energy to the team and want to use that to get to Omaha.”

The California native is a highly touted prospect in the 2026 MLB Draft class, and could very likely be a first-round pick come July.

With so much talk around his future, Advincula is focused on the present.

“This year will definitely be challenging to block out the noise,” he said. “Some of the noise is unavoidable, but I’m ready for the challenge.”
