
After six former Y-D players were selected during the first three rounds of the MLB Draft on Sunday, 16 more Y-D alumni were drafted throughout rounds 4-20 on Monday.
Micah Bucknam
The Toronto Blue Jays selected Micah Bucknam, a right-handed pitcher from Dallas Baptist University, with the 112th overall pick in the fourth round. Bucknam spent two summers with Y-D in 2023 and 2024, pitching to a 4.12 ERA across 12 total appearances. Last summer, he was sixth on the team with 24 strikeouts in 21.1 innings pitched.
Bucknam pitched at LSU for the first two years of his collegiate career before transferring to Dallas Baptist for his junior season, where he became the team’s Friday starter. He displayed dominant swing-and-miss stuff throughout this past year, recording 11.6 K/9, which was the second-highest mark in the Conference USA.
Bucknam won Conference USA Pitcher of the Week after going seven scoreless innings with a tremendous 14 strikeouts against Middle Tennessee State on March 21. This is the second time that the right-hander has been drafted by the Blue Jays, as he was selected by them out of high school in the 16th round of the 2021 MLB Draft.
Jason Reitz
The Minnesota Twins selected Jason Reitz, a right-handed pitcher from the University of Oregon, with the 119th overall pick in the fourth round. Reitz threw three innings for Y-D in 2024, allowing two runs with two strikeouts. During his junior year at Oregon, Reitz had a 3.50 ERA and 10.2 K/9. He only allowed two home runs in his 64.1 innings of work.
Sean Youngerman
The Philadelphia Phillies selected Sean Youngerman, a right-handed pitcher from Oklahoma State University, with the 131st overall pick in the fourth round. Youngerman was the ace of the Y-D pitching staff last summer, pitching to a 2.55 ERA with a league-leading 12.04 K/9 across six starts. He was tied for the fourth-lowest ERA among qualified pitchers on the Cape last year.
Youngerman spent his first two seasons in college pitching with Westmont and was named to the All-PacWest Third Team in 2024 after he recorded a 3.71 ERA and was tied for fourth in the conference with eight wins. This past year, he transferred to Oklahoma State and shined with a 2.08 ERA, earning him a spot on the All-Big 12 Second Team.
The right-hander was at his best against Kansas State on April 6, when he tossed eight scoreless innings with 11 strikeouts and zero walks in a 7-0 victory.
Braden Osbolt
The Cincinnati Reds selected Braden Osbolt, a right-handed pitcher from Kennesaw State University, with the 174th pick in the sixth round. Osbolt was extremely efficient with Y-D in the summer of 2024, throwing 23.2 innings in five starts. He posted a 1.056 WHIP, only allowing one home run during his time on the Cape. During his junior year at Kennesaw State, Osbolt had a BB/9 of 1.6.
Leighton Finley
The Boston Red Sox selected Leighton Finley, a right-handed pitcher from the University of Georgia, with the 178th pick in the sixth round. Finley was lights-out during his time with Y-D in the summer of 2023, allowing zero earned runs in 17.1 innings. Finley made eight appearances out of the bullpen with Y-D and was the only member of the pitching staff to not allow an earned run with 10+ innings pitched.
Finley showcased dominant stuff across his three-year collegiate career at Georgia, racking up 9.9 K/9. After coming out of the bullpen in his first year with the Bulldogs, he became a part of the rotation in his sophomore and junior seasons and recorded a 4.49 ERA in 30 total starts.
Landon Beidelschies
The Atlanta Braves selected Landon Beidelschies, a left-handed pitcher from the University of Arkansas, with the 187th overall pick in the sixth round. Beidelschies was a member of the 2023 Y-D Red Sox, logging 22.1 innings. He had an impressive 12.5 K/9 with Y-D, only allowing two home runs during his time on the Cape.
Beidelschies had a 4.82 ERA with Arkansas in 2025, appearing in 16 games. He started in 13 of those games. The Ohio native struck out 70 batters in 61.2 innings, lowering his walk rate to 2.9 BB/9.
Paxton Kling
The Texas Rangers selected Paxton Kling, an outfielder from Penn State University, with the 205th overall pick in the seventh round. Kling was a member of the 2023 Y-D Red Sox, appearing in 13 games. He hit one home run and had four stolen bases as part of Y-D. He walked nine times with a .370 OBP.
With Penn State in 2025, Kling had a 1.102 OPS with a 151 wRC+. He hit 13 home runs and stole 15 bases. His slugging percentage was .632, a 315-point increase from his sophomore year.
Ryan Sprock
The Minnesota Twins selected Ryan Sprock, an infielder and right-handed pitcher from Elon University, with the 239th overall pick in the eighth round. Sprock played in 24 games for Y-D, drawing seven walks with a .432 OBP. During his junior year at Elon, the New Jersey native hit 14 home runs. He drove in 50 runs, with an impressive .593 SLG.
Anthony Martinez
The Cleveland Guardians selected Anthony Martinez, a first baseman from the University of California Irvine, with the 252nd overall pick in the eighth round. Martinez played with Y-D for two summers in 2023 and 2024, displaying impressive plate discipline during his time with the team. He put up a .407 on-base percentage throughout 32 games with Y-D and walked 19 times compared to striking out just 11 times.
Martinez made a massive impact in the middle of UC Irvine’s lineup during all three years of his collegiate career. He was named a D1Baseball.com Freshman All-American in 2023 when he launched 11 home runs and led the Big West Conference with a .394 batting average. Overall, Martinez had a .950 OPS across his tenure with the Anteaters and hit over .300 in each of the three seasons.
Hunter Hines
The Washington Nationals selected Hunter Hines, a first baseman from Mississippi State University, with the 291st overall pick in the 10th round. Hines was a star while playing for Y-D in 2023, leading the Cape League with 13 home runs and 45 RBIs in 41 games. Among qualified hitters, he led Y-D with a .925 OPS and a .565 slugging percentage.
Hines made history during his four years at Mississippi State, crushing 70 career home runs to set a new program record. He was a constant force throughout his career with the Bulldogs, with an OPS of .830 or higher and at least 16 homers in each of his four seasons.
Zach Harris
The Colorado Rockies selected Zach Harris, a right-handed pitcher from the University of Georgia, with the 317th overall pick in the 11th round. Harris logged 7.1 innings with Y-D this summer, striking out seven with only four walks. He had an impressive 10.1 K/9 with Georgia in 2025, posting a 4.55 ERA and 1.229 WHIP.
Dylan Tate
The Los Angeles Dodgers selected Dylan Tate, a right-handed pitcher from the University of Oklahoma, with the 345th overall pick in the 11th round. Tate made three starts with Y-D this summer, with two of the outings coming during the team’s nine-game winning streak in June. He tossed 4.1 innings with only four hits and one earned run allowed in the thrilling 5-4 victory over Hyannis on June 29.
Tate made two appearances out of the bullpen with Oklahoma this past season, including when he went four innings of one-run ball with five strikeouts against North Carolina in the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional.
Jack Goodman
The Detroit Tigers selected Jack Goodman, an infielder from Northeastern University, with the 399th overall pick in the 13th round. Goodman played two games with Y-D in 2023, going 1-4 at the plate. He was a star throughout his two-year stint with Northeastern, hitting a combined .328 in 83 games with an OPS of .900 or better in each of the two seasons.
Skylar King
The Boston Red Sox selected Skylar King, an outfielder from West Virginia University, with the 448th overall pick in the 15th round. King played for Y-D in the summers of 2023 and 2024, putting up a .370 batting average across 13 games.
King took a big step forward at the plate at West Virginia this past season with a career-high .813 OPS while starting 59 games in center field. King also displayed impeccable bat-to-ball skills with the Mountaineers, striking out just 11.2% of the time this year.
AJ Soldra
The Los Angeles Dodgers selected AJ Soldra, an outfielder from the University of Connecticut, with the 495th overall pick in the 16th round. Soldra led the charge for Y-D offensively this summer, launching a team-high four home runs with a .920 OPS in 18 games.
Soldra went on a torrid stretch during the team’s historic winning streak with three homers and six RBIs in the span of four games. Along with shining at the plate, he made a multitude of highlight plays in left field, including a couple of diving grabs against Wareham and Chatham in June.
This past season at Seton Hall, Soldra hit .330 with a .426 on-base percentage, which were both the second-highest marks on the team.
Avian Cabral
The Atlanta Braves selected Avian Cabral, a right-handed pitcher from Northeastern University, with the 547th pick in the 18th round. Cabral posted a 2.81 ERA with Y-D in 2024, striking out 22 batters in just 16 innings.
At Northeastern in his junior year, Cabral had a 2.92 ERA and 1.030 WHIP. He struck out 74 batters in 89.1 innings.
With the substantial number of Y-D alumni drafted on Monday, 22 former Y-D players ended up being selected throughout the entirety of the 2025 MLB Draft.
