Saturday brought a walk-off win. The Gatemen roll into Falmouth’s Fuller Field as one of the hottest teams in the Cape League after notching their season high in hits and knocking off the 5-1 Mariners on Saturday.

But today is a new day.

Wareham must bring its A-game once again for its fourth West Division matchup of the summer. Falmouth is .500 on the summer and ranks in the upper-eschelon of nearly every offensive stat. Both squads are searching for their first divisional win of 2026, and have an opportunity to head into the Cape League’s second off-day on a high note.

Starting Pitchers: Hastings vs. Stern

Wareham: Logan Hastings (Kentucky) spun an efficient start against Chatham on Tuesday: just one earned run allowed and four strikeouts. 41 of Hasting’s 60 pitches went for strikes, and Gatemen fans should expect a similar approach against the swing-heavy Commodores. He holds a 2.70 ERA, third-lowest on Wareham, and will force hitters into uncomfortable situations with favorable counts.

Falmouth: Four scoreless innings against a monster Whitecaps lineup is all of an introduction that Nate Stern (TCU) needs. He didn’t allow a single hit and struck out four Brewster hitters, holding the line in Falmouth’s wire-to-wire 6-5 victory. Stern can thrust himself into an ace conversation with a strong start tonight, but can Wareham carry its offensive outing from yesterday on the road?

Players To Watch

Gatemen: Levi Clark (Tennessee) is tied for first in runs on Wareham after just four games. He crossed home plate twice and tallied a pair of hits. The addition of Clark’s bat has been a prominent factor in the Gatemen’s offense resurgence. Combining his bat and his positional flexibility at catcher, outfield and first base, Wareham’s everyday player is heating up at the perfect time.

Commodores: Ty Kaunas (Texas Tech) was one of Falmouth’s lone offensive bright spots in its recent loss to Chatham with a hit and two RBIs. He has five hits on the summer and leads the Commodores in RBIs, adding an offensive aspect to his shortstop role. He will be a tough out the entire night and will wait on the perfect pitch to tally a base knock.

Wareham can establish itself to the rest of the Cape League with a road victory, and can prove that Saturday’s magic wasn’t just lightning in a bottle. The Gatemen found their form last night with 11 hits and four consecutive shutout innings, but they now look to go perfect on the weekend.
