On Sunday, the Harwich Mariners welcomed their four-legged fans to Whitehouse Field. It was the team's annual Bark in the Park Day, giving fans the opportunity to bring their furry friend to the ballpark.
"Everyone on the Cape are dog lovers," Karen O'Hara said. "It's just a great environment."
O'Hara's english lab, Finn, went to last year's Bark in the Park and is a frequent visitor of Whitehouse. O'Hara said Finn has never met a person he doesn't like.
"Everyone who meets him smiles," she said.
Fans who brought their dogs were entered into a raffle drawing to win a doggy bag of prizes that included toys and bandanas.
Riley Rose, a yellow lab, scurried in for her first-ever Mariners game. Her owners, the Walsh family, used the Bark in the Park as an opportunity to visit the field.
The Harwich locals remember Riley's first Cape beach experience. Despite never seeing the ocean, the dog ran out onto a jetty and splashed into the water.
"It was winter so we thought we were going to have to jump in after her," her owners said. "But she started going. She's a huge water dog."

Bob Proulx, host to Tanner Marsh and Tyler Muscar, brought along Digby, an english cream golden retriever.
"He loves (the players)," Proulx said. "They always greet him in return."
Didby earned dog of the night during the first Harwich home game of the season.
