Championship Rematch

Bourne opens the season at Whitehouse Field against the Harwich Mariners on Saturday, June 14 in a rematch of last season's Cape League Finals. The Mariners claimed the Mycock Trophy at Doran Park in a 4-3 loss in Game 3 of the championship series. The road team won all three games that series, with Bourne taking Game 2, 7-1, in Harwich.

The two teams split the 2024 regular season series, 2-2.

First pitch on June 14 is set for 5:30 PM.

Rivalries Renewed

The Braves disposed of division rivals Hyannis and Cotuit en route to the CCBL Finals. They handed the Harbor Hawks a 5-1 loss at McKeon Park in the one-game divisional round before catching Cotuit in Game 2 and Game 3 of the East Division Finals, 7-4 and 5-3, respectively.

Hyannis visits Doran Park on June 19 with the Kettleers arriving three days later on June 22. Bourne plays the two teams six times in July.

Familiar Face

The Braves will look across the field and see a familiar face in the visiting dugout when the Commodores come to town on June 25. Jarrod Saltalamacchia, a fan favorite and assistant under head coach Scott Landers, was named as the head coach of the Falmouth Commodores in Fall 2024. Saltalamacchia replaces longtime Falmouth fixture Jeff Trundy, who was inducted into the Cape League Hall of Fame in November and passed away in December after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Landers will square off against his former assistant four other times throughout the season including a home game on August 1 that may have big playoff implications.

All-Star Weekend & Playoff Changes

The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox will host the annual Cape League All-Star Game on Saturday, July 19 at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School in South Yarmouth. This will be the fourth time the Y-D Red Sox have hosted the Cape League’s mid-season classic and the first time since 2013.

After altering the playoff format last season to have a single-game open-round matchup followed by two best-of-three series in the Division Finals and Championships Finals, more tweaks have been made.

The 2025 Cape League playoff format will feature three rounds of best-of-three series with the top four teams in each division qualifying for the postseason. The playoffs are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, August 5, and conclude by Wednesday, August 13.
