After playing just under a third of a game in Falmouth due to lightning and thunderstorms in the nearby area, Wareham returns home for another divisional matchup: Hyannis. The Gatemen had a 3-0 lead over the Commodores at Guv Fuller Field after two home runs in the first inning but will now complete the contest on Monday, a previously scheduled off-day.
The Harbor Hawks gained their 10th win of the summer with a road victory in Harwich and moved into second place in the West Division standings. Hyannis has won two of its last three matchups and won at Spillane Field earlier this season.
Wareham begins a critical stretch of divisional games to further playoff seeding of the all-star break: Hyannis, Bourne, and then the completion of the Falmouth game over the next three days.
Starting Pitchers: Bosch vs. Walton
Hyannis: Ryan Bosch (Wake Forest) gave the Harbor Hawks a strong start (3.0 IP, 1 ER, 3 SO) in their upset win over the CCBL-best Red Sox on July 4th. He is tied with five other Hyannis arms for the team-lead in strikeouts (13) and has held opposing batters to a .229 average. After holding the Cape League’s run leaders to just one score, Bosch now faces a Gatemen lineup that hit two home runs in the first two innings.
Wareham: The Gatemen’s strikeout leader (16), Wade Walton (High Point), faces another West Division opponent after his start helped Wareham take down the reigning Cape League champions at Spillane Field. Most swing-and-miss pitchers often allow walks to put runners on base: Walton carries a 3.00 strikeout-to-walk ratio against a Hyannis lineup with the second-most strikeouts in the CCBL.

Harbor Hawks: Hyannis now sits at second in the West Division in large part to Jordan Lodise (Georgia Tech) tying the team-high 16-hit mark with four base knocks over the last two games. His batting average has improved to .281 and Lodise has moved into a consistent role at the top-half of the Harbor Hawks’ lineup.
Gatemen: Wareham jumped out in front of Falmouth due to its success with the long ball. Dylan Dubovik (Miami) hit his first home run of the summer and scored the runner on base. He tallied his first hit since the start of July and now faces a Hyannis squad that allowed 15 hits over its last two games.
