The Harwich Mariners will be represented with a trio of players at the 2024 Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Game on July 27. Hosted by the Falmouth Commodores at Guv Fuller Field, Cade Kurland (Florida), Cam Maldonado (Northeastern) and Jake Ogden (Miami) will suit up for the East Division team on Saturday evening. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
Kurland was selected by the five managers of the East Division clubs to start at second base for Saturday's contest. Through 21 games, the rising junior at Florida has posted a .256 batting average with three doubles, a home run and eight RBI, while stealing five bases.
Maldonado and Ogden were chosen as reserves for the East as Maldonado is slated to come into the second half of the game in the outfield with Ogden doing the same on the infield. Strong throughout the season, Maldonado currently leads the Mariners with a .263 batting average and 13 stolen bases over 27 appearances. Additionally, the Northeastern product has slugged four home runs and driven in 17 runs, totals that rank second, respectively, for the Harwich club. Ogden, a rising junior and transfer to the University of Miami, has earned his way from temp player status to a permanent contract and now a spot on the East All-Star team with a good mixture of power with four home runs and 15 RBI, and slick glove work at third base.
