In the blink of an eye, we are already a quarter of the way through the 2025 Cape Cod Baseball League season. The Mariners pitching continued to lead the way, while the offense still figures out its timing.

Each week, we will highlight the best performances from the Harwich Mariners from the previous week.

Without further ado, here are the three stars from the second week of the season:

Third Star: Jake Koonin, Outfield

Nobody had a great week at the plate, but Koonin had the best single-game performance of the week.

The utility guy reached base three times against Orleans. His two-run home run put Harwich up ahead in the second inning. He got hit by a pitch in the seventh that allowed Dee Kennedy to get to second before eventually scoring. His double in the ninth gave the Mariners a chance to tie the game.

He also just struck out twice this week, which is on the lower end for this team.

Second Star: Christian Rodriguez, Relief Pitcher

He pitched entirely while his team was down, but Rodriguez put together a solid performance out of the bullpen against Orleans.

After walking his first two batters, he allowed just one hit the rest of his outing. He struck out five guys in 3.2 scoreless innings pitched. Rodriguez has been the best arm out of the bullpen, allowing no runs in his three outings.

First Star: Luke McNeillie, Starting Pitcher

The two Florida Gators take the top two spots of the week. It would seem outrageous to not pick the guy who pitched four no-hit innings to get the top nod of the week.

McNeillie allowed just one baserunner in his only start of the week and struck out five guys along the way.

For a guy that’s started a total four games over two seasons at UF, the righty has looked comfortable in his new role.
